Thanks and you are both correct. Good food is relative to how you look at food. I just went out to eat and for the first time I selected baked fish over fried fish and it was wonderful. I feel that this time I am going to make it and really achieve my goal of eating healthy--anywhere. emoticon

I grew up in Baton Rouge.

You mention "great" food, but that word is relative.

Many of us are living proof that foods prepared in other, non-fried, ways (including RAW vegetables, fruits, etc.) are what's really great. : )

For me, I love just about any fried foods. The first three days on the diet was difficult I must say because I was bombarded with cravings. Fried foods is one of my craving type foods. But once I got through the first three days things started settling down with my appetite and I was able to eat wholesome type foods without too much problem. I ate a lot of my favorite fish and chicken breast (poached) in the beginning to get me over the hump. I logged everything and now for the first time I feel like I am in control of my body and what goes in it. Good luck navigating through this. It can be done.

Hi, I am new to Sparkepeople and I live in Louisiana. You know we have great food--so how are you handling "turning down fried chicken" and etc.?
