Really dating myself--the sound of bells to come home when we all used to play outside until the street lights came on. Each family had a different sound in my neighborhood.

The way the screen door sounded when you opened it, and let it slam shut because you were too busy running to play outside. Miss my grandmother and her house so much.

in my town we still have an ice cream truck that goes through town. What about the sound of the tv when the channel went off for the night and all you heard was snow sound. now tv's channels are on all night.

Oh! Good one KCLARK89, I still have one of those, the sound quality is not near what I'm used to but I enjoy hearing my mom's old vinyls every now and then.

I remember all of those and the whistle of a steam locomotive and the bells of the ice cream bicycle boy, and what about sound of metal wheeled skates on the cement sidewalk.

I still hear the VCR rewinding, because I still use mine. I can't afford DVR service. I can record my shows on the VCR for free, and I reuse the tapes I already have. I also have a lot of movies on VHS, it would be too expensive for me to replace all of them with DVDs.

I used to be able to make a Lemonhead candy box squeak when blowing it, but the packaging changed and it's not possible anymore.

Hmmmm..... is the ding ding sound of the car tires going across the gas station tube still around for full service? I haven't had an attendant fill my gas tank since they went to self service!

Well, as long as if we have the internet with sound clips we will never truly lose these sounds...
As for the ice cream truck, that is a new one in the town I grew up in. Back in the late 70s they were banned from the streets due to 2 stupid kids who managed to get themselves hit by cars. Summer before last the town decided to lift the ban...
