Oh I feel the same way. I was eating clean for the past 4 days and now I found that I cannot even finish a plate of tofu and vegetables. That's 1/2 cup of vegetables and 2 tofu blocks. I ended up eating just 1/4 cup of veggies and 1 tofu block. I was quite surprised since I have not eaten a lot during breakfast. I am kind of afraid to fall below the calorie line. All of my nutrients for the day have taken a nosedive. But I guess I have to observe myself for the week.
PRINCESSMANDIE - OF course you won't ever NOT feel hungry. I meant SUPER hungry..like starving. Like i'm gonna eat like a linebacker type hunger! THAT'S the hunger you want to avoid. When i feel my stomach talking to me and I look up at the clock it's usually right on cue at about 3-4 hours since my last meal or snack. Or sometimes I just get sluggish or get a headache because i'm hungry, even with NO stomach growling.. But eating something small/frequent meals multiple times during the day keeps your blood sugar levels stable (which important or you might feel sluggish) and prevents that "i'm gonna eat like a linebacker" feeling in your belly. and certain helps you to avoid overeating at the next meal for sure and the "oh I ate too much full" feeling.
MEGSOC20 - do you eat healthy foods you actually enjoy? this might help with the cravings for junkfood. If you LIKE what you eat, it certainly helps. :)

sometimes its almost harder for me when i eeat clean because i can stick to it for 4-5 days and then i CRAVE unhealthy food and seem to pig out... props to you for sticking with it!
Good to know I'm not the only one. And I didn't even think that I probably shouldn't EVER feel hungry. You live your life a certain way for so long and then when you change it, you start to think "Wait a second this isn't normal". Like this morning I felt hungry so I ate my bowl of cereal and about half way through I didn't want to eat anymore, I felt I was getting full. Well yesterday I ate my bowl of cereal just fine but had to wait a little bit to eat my yogurt, but the day before that I ate my bowl of cereal and my yogurt before I felt full. I'm just noticing each day it seems I'm eating less and less during each meal.
I noticed I have more energy and I'm definitely feeling better. I feel thinner too even though my scale hasn't changed much yet. I'll start to keep snacks around to eat throughout the day. I always keep yogurt in the fridge at work. I'll just grab one of those to eat a few hours after my breakfast or lunch from now on.

I agree with the above poster. If it's a one time deal, not a huge issue. If you see a recurring pattern daily, then you might want to reevaluate.
I realize there are many people who ONLY eat when hungry and this works for them but I personally operate a tad differently and maybe this might work for you. I eat something every 3-4 hours by the clock..hungry or not. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack..Most of the time (when i'm doing this properly) I NEVER get starving hungry. For me personally, If i wait until my body is starving (getting busy and skipping a snack or meal) i overeat at the next meal. If you keep your body satisfied with healthy nutritious small snacks/meals throughout the day, you'll never allow yourself to become uncontrollably hungry. Kinda like that ole saying about water - that once you're actually thirsty you're already dehydrated.
Also, your afternoon caffeine could be hindering your "dinner appetite" as caffeine is a natural appetite suppressant. That doesn't mean you need to give it up or anything, but just be aware of what you are or aren't eating
You KNOW your body needs a certain "minimum" amount of calories/fuel to keep your brain going, your heart and lungs pumping, hungry or not...your body still needs those calories. A general guideline is 1200 calories per day as it is VERY hard to get adequate nutrition when you fall below this range..I'm not saying to down a HUGE meal if you aren't hungry, but maybe eating a small snack such as a yogurt and some almonds, some string cheese, a hardboiled egg, etc. here and there throughout the day will help you add to your daily calorie range and keep your body fueled..Eating small snacks and meals is constant fuel to keep your metabolism going.
I think NEVER feeling super hungry is right on target - AS LONG as you are meeting your nutritional/calorie goals. Otherwise, your body isn't getting the nutrients, protein, fiber, carbs, healthy fats it needs to function..even without exercise! Eventually eating under your calorie maximum WILL catch up and hinder more than help weight loss efforts..but again, if it's just a one in a while occurrence, this really isn't an issue. I would keep a close eye and see how often this happens and readjust from there. :).

I've experienced this shift in appetite myself. I got all the things that didn't agree with me out of my system and then my appetite seemed to almost disappear.
I'm working in some healthful, calorie dense foods into my plan so I can get enough calories. I've just discovered medjool dates. They are surprisingly high in calories, but also very nutritious. Nuts are good for calorie density. I'm experimenting with healthful treats as well (just tried a recipe for flourless chocolate cake - it was really good, too!)
Is this normal? I am one who LOVES her food. I finally decided last week I was going to eat clean (or at least cleaner). My breakfast typically is 1 cup Kashi Go Lean, 2/3 cup 1% milk and a light non fat yogurt. My mid-morning snack is another non fat yogurt and a piece of fruit. Lunch is whole wheat bread with turkey or chicken breast, small salad. Dinner is whatever I want but I'm usually also eating that healthier too so the other day was 2 egg whites, piece of whole wheat toast and 3 pieces of turkey bacon. I've cut out soda except my 1 diet that I drink for caffeine at lunch. I'm drinking water the rest of the day.
Well last night I ate like 3 bites of a Pumelo for my dinner because I wasn't hungry. Today at work I skipped my mid morning snack because I wasn't hungry. And here it is 4:00pm and I'm still not hungry after eating only 1 taco at lunch (taco meat, hard shell, lettuce, little bit of cheese and black olives).
Is my body just appreciating that I'm eating healthier or should I be worried? I find I'm having trouble getting my daily calories in now. After adding my calories for today I've only consumed 1000, when I should be eating around 1400 at minimum.
