Are you near a pool / water - I find doing exercise in water can be fun, less stressful on the body and helps with coping with the humidity.

Cleaning and organizing around the house. That will get you moving! Scrub the floor, use a ladder to dust up hIgh, clean out and organize a cluttered basement... It adds up!

Do you have outdoor space? Maybe try doing some yard work, or planting a veggie garden. It's not too late to plant a fall garden with broccoli, lettuce, beets, carrots, turnips, etc. If you don't have space, maybe there is a community garden you could work in.

Sometimes, if you just get out in the heat and do what you need to do. Maybe look for a place to volunteer, like Habitat for Humanity, or Big Sisters/Big Brothers?

If you don't have a gym to go to, try some workout or yoga videos!

Do jumping jacks/push-ups/squats, etc. during commercials or after you finish reading a chapter (if you're a reader). Go to a local mall and walk around. Full on scrub a part of the house each day or every other day. Use this opportunity to find a class (fitness or otherwise) you can take during the day.

So, I'm on an extended vacation between jobs this summer, and while I thought it would be a great opportunity to really tackle diet and exercise, I've been struggling. With all this heat and humidity, I find myself just lounging inside on the couch. I walk to run some errands, but it's hard to be outside for long. So except for my workouts, I'm not very active during the day. I don't have anywhere to be or much to do until I meet up with friends for happy hour. I've been eating pretty well, but being inactive just doesn't help.

Does anyone have tips for staying active while at home most of the day? I don't want to be a couch potato, but I don't know what else to do!
