You are not alone. I do my best not to look at the whole picture because I get discouraged and feel I will never accomplish my goal, especially when I am having a bad day. This is why I set very small goals for myself . I will be happy if I lose 1 lb a week and I try to take it one meal at a time.

Do any of you ever look at the whole picture of trying to lose weight and get healthy and feel like crawling under a rock!!!! I try to look at the little success and I know they will turn into big ones but it is soooooo hard to do sometimes..... Especially if you are having a bad day.

Thank you. I find that if I am not ready to face the scale, I won't weigh. Too many times , in the past, I would have a good week and when I weighed and found I didn't lose, I would be so disappointed that I would eat . So, if you are having a good week and feel you will be disappointed if it doesn't show on the scale, stay away from it. There is much more to losing weight than facing a scale. Good luck and much success.

Welcome aboard RSM! We are big fans of not weighing in too much because if you are building healthy habits, then the magic is often happening inside your body before it shows up on the scale - and many people give up too soon because of getting discouraged by the scale.

Congrats!!!! I have been trying to stay away from the scales!!! If I ever start the weighing routine I get to discouraged!!! I have been at this a week and need to weigh... Keep up the good work!!!!

Thank you. I joined SparkPeople last Sunday and have been on the site everyday since. I love all the encouragement and support but the thing I love most is being able to track my food. What a way to lose weight, eating what I like. The thing that amazes me most is that now that I track my food I find myself I find I am eating healthier and my portions are getting smaller. I don't expect to lose the weight overnight, but for the first time I believe I can lose the weight.

Thank you for giving me such a great place to come to lose weight.

Congrats Macov - this is the beginning of a new you! We hope to see you around a lot, because we've seen that the more active someone is on the site, the more likely they are to lose the weight (and reach other goals in life).

Just thought I would like to share my success of my first week. I weighed in this morning and lost 3 lbs. I haven't felt this good about myself in a long time. I thank God for leading me to this SparkPeople when I was feeling so down about my weight and myself. I also want to thank everyone who gave me support and encouragement. emoticon
