I am in the same boat. I LOVE sugar! January began my journey with Sparkpeople, but last month I started to slip. I lost 20lbs fairly quickly from January to early March. Since the beginning of April, I have fallen off the no sweets bandwagon. I was eating skinny cow ice cream, sugar free Jello and pudding, as well as other sugar free and low fat sweets. But once Easter came close, I began to get care packages with Jelly Beans (My biggest weakness!). Now that the Jelly bean season is over, I want to stop the Sugar Madness! I propose a NO Candy/Sweets Challenge! Anyone in??? I will say that the sugar free things and low fat/calorie sweets are okay, as long as you stay in calorie range. We cant stop cold turkey! I know I can't! Any other ideas?

OMG it is nice to know that someone else has a chocolate and sugar addiction like me. Easter was crazy, I ate so much chocolate that I am sure I will be up 5lbs today when I get weighed in. I don't know if there is a way of controlling this addiction but I did find that hypnosis helped a bit. I still struggle every day with this and I think the best thing for me is not to have the sugar or chocolate around and if I want some, only buy a sm amount. I am going to try and get back on track this week.
Good luck with your healthy eating and let me know if you come up with a cure for the addiction.

Thanks for the advice, Kaytee. I don't think a bag of chocolates will last 10 minutes in my pocket, lol, but I think carrying something like some nuts will be helpful for cravings :)
WOW do i understand. Have you thought about carrying a few dark chocolate morsels around with you, and when you get the urge just eating a few. I am talking about the small baking ones, like in chocolate chips. it works for me.

I don't sympathize very well with people who feel like victims ... but the truth is that sugar and chocolate are killing me. I get the biggest cravings and I go to a fast food place and eat them. I can commit to a weight loss plan, and then sugar and chocolate defeat me. Has anyone else conquered this or a similar overpowering craving? I'd like to know what you did to conquer it.
