Jen, that's exactly what I do! I weigh myself every morning but I only really count my official weigh in days, which are Fridays. I write my weight each Friday on the calender so I can really see my progress week by week. I don't let the numbers get me down because I know weight fluctuates..especially during TOM I'm pretty sure by Friday I'll be back to my normal weight (or lower hopefully!) I ate a lot of high sodium over the weekend so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it too.
Your weight fluctuates day to day, even hour to hour. I was (still sort of am) a compulsive weigher. The fluctuations will drive you crazy and get you down. What helps me is to have a set "official" weigh-in day/time (once a week). I may weight myself at other days/times, but just to see what's going on. I only "count" my official weigh-in that occurs on Friday morning, before eating or working out.
Last month it did the same thing, but I never know when my TOM is ..it varies so I never know whats real weight loss or TOM loss. I'd rather just deal with the typical gain during then losing it after than getting my hopes up that I lost when i didn't.. but who knows my next weigh in is Friday so we'll see what happens. I'm not discouraged or anything but I don't know of anyone else who loses before their period.. it's strange to me.
It can do all sorts of things-- thats why you really shouldn't be weighing yourself that often. Just focus on eating right and exercising, and weigh yourself once a week. Weight will come off even when you're not looking at the scale every other day.

It does freaky things to me, too. Sometimes, like you, I lose a bunch right before and then it creeps back up to normal. This past time, I gained and gained right before and then it all whooshed off over the next week or so after. I think maybe just stay off the scale until about a week after you're finished.
Ok so this is my problem. A week before TOM I weighed 208..then the day I started (friday) I weighed 204. Now halfway through TOM the scale says 206..
I'm wondering if I really lost that 4 pounds or if it was just TOM messing with my body? Does anyone else lose right before but gain halfway through? Does it come back off? It doesn't make sense I would think after you've started you shouldn't be gaining, I thought most the gain was right before you start, not when it's halfway over???
