Jenn-

Remember the story of the Tortoise & the Hare...
Slow and steady wins the race. We are all going to hit those plateaus (and for those of you who don't have that problem -- is it OK if we hate you emoticon ), but as long as we continue losing a little every few weeks, we are making progress.

Keep working, and don't get discouraged.

Thanks Crazymama! Boy, I'm having to fight to stay down here now. I did a wittle boo-boo - "overcelebrated" to the point I was starting to go the wrong direction. Now I've made a u-turn however, & between all that & the pms bloat - I'm hanging in at straight up 150. Don't expect to see it drop much before next week. Not that I intend to not work at it, but I know how pms week goes. I can work all week & then if anything's gonna fall off, it'll be NEXT week.

Oh - & I DID find a pair of "toy" binoculars that work perfect! heehee Trouble is I don't like what I'm seeing...haha. It'll get better. I've been through so many set-backs & stuff the last year, I'm not too worried about it.

Congrats on your big accomplishment! I'm right with you, just under 150 and hoping to end up in the 130s. I never want to see that 150 on the scale ever again!

I liked your story about the 3/5 on the scale. I have an electronic scale, so I don't need my glasses to see the digital numbers. But --- my scale is really unreliable. It can fluctuate as much as 3-4 lbs. during the 3/5 weighings. My brothers came to my house (you know how you can't resist weighing on someone else's scales when you are in their bathrooms? Its like "the grass is always greener" on the other person's scale!) and they insist that my scale is several lbs heavier than either of their scales. I like that idea -- but I don't trust my prankster bros. to tell the absolute truth!

Keep working it, and you'll be at your goal before you know it!

Thanks so much, Chris, Kathy, & Jen. Wanted to add a funny, although it may only be funny to me. We were talking on a thread once about our "weigh-in day rituals". Some can get pretty funny, & I'm no exception. Of course one of them is just an idea so far: I swear I gotta find that small pair of binoculars - I have an old-timey scale & my eyes aren't what they used to be. You should see me (no don't I'm naked) trying to see that 1/2 lb loss - is the line BETWEEN the nbrs? Is it 147...or 148? Right now I put on my husband's glasses & from 5 1/2 feet I'm still not sure sometimes... Oh also - it VARIES. So, all along on the same scale, I usually do a 3 out of 5 routine...HAHAHAHA. Whatever nbr comes up 3 out of 5 is what I'm callin' it for the day.

Well, I said when I finally saw the under side of 150, it was going to be PARTY TIME! Well, it's here! And I'm 3 lbs from my goal weight, although I intend to continue to try to tone & improve myself physically. (my lower half still needs more work--haha)(But I feel alot stronger than when I started, & my arms actually have a teensy bit of shape!) I started at 185 back in Feb 2004 & am now at 148!! Technically, I've lost more than 37 lbs - I gained 9 or 10 in the summer & had to lose it AGAIN. (fool for punishment you know..haha) It took me awhile, but here I am. I hovered around the 154-155 mark for quite awhile this year & finally got SICK OF IT & decided it was time to get SERIOUS. I KNEW how to do this & knew I COULD do it. That was the key - DO IT. I think the hardest thing for me is giving up Friday night pizza buffet with my family. I just flat had to say NO. I've come to the conclusion lately that what I heard Denise Austin say is true: "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". And the older expression, "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips". I mean, it seemed like I'd eat the bad food....and then it was gone. The experience was over. And here I'd sit with my saddlebags & belly, going "Was that really WORTH IT?!"

Ok enough for now. Just had to share the victory, & say "It CAN be done". Even if you mess up, it can still be done, it just takes a little longer.

(I have some jeans that look like the above pic, too!)
