It has all types of numbers, I didn't know what the majority of them were. I'll look tomorrow when I go to work out.

Moderate versus vigorous is probably best guaged by your heart rate. 50-70% of your maximum heart rate is moderate, 70-90%is vigorous. (And your maximum is given by 220 minus your age).

Unlike walking or running, where distance covered is the major factor in calories burned, when it comes to rowing, speed matters, so distance covered is not enough to estimate calories burned.

Does the erg display any other outputs?

My fitness center just purchased an erg and I've started working out on it 3-4 times a week. I'm having a little problem when I go to track my workout.

Is using the erg considered 'rowing?' If so, what is considered a 'moderate' workout since that it the lowest it goes. I'm not working out like my daughter did back when she was on the crew team or anything like that. I'm just rowing down stream at a nice steady pace.

Is there any way for me to just track how far I row in however long it takes me?

Please help me!
