I agree- you aren't starting over you're just learning how to get better. Focus on the things within your control. Attitude- speak positiverly to yourself. Movement- you are getting in the excersise so, keep it up. This is an opportunity to become hte ultimate problem solver. If you can figure out a way to get through these challenges, think of the the example you are setting for your children.

You should not have to buy separate food to feed your family. It's just too hard. There are lots of family-friendly healthy foods in the stores and farmer's markets now. I saw cantaloupe yesterday for less than $2.00 at the regular grocery store. It's healthy, cheap, and delicious. My whole life changed when I realized that a side dish for dinner could be a bowl of berries or sliced peaches or grape tomatoes (or even raw carrots or sugar snap peas).
Another family-friendly cheap, nutritious food is baked beans. I buy a pound of navy beans for about $1.00/bag. The catsup, brown sugar, and other ingredients don't add much cost or many calories. This is enough to make a side dish for 2 dinners for my family of 5.
Be kind to yourself. You are under a lot of stress. Make the best choices you can with the circumstances you are given, and you will continue to make progress.

A few weeks ago I was reading responses from a health expert regarding the lack of time and money when it comes to healthy living. The health expert used the analogy of the oxygen mask on a plane and why the adults are asked to place their over their mouth and nose first before taking care of the kids they are traveling with. The reason, if you lose consciousness who would be there to help the child with his/her mask.
Same can be said about the importance of healthy living. If we want to be the best Mom/Wife we can be, we must make ourselves a priority. We must be willing to put the mask on first before putting it on others. This is not being selfish, this is being accountable to you. You deserve to live a healthy lifestyle. You may have a few more challenges than others when it comes to weight loss, but by focusing on making this a lifestyle and not just another means to lose the weight, you may be surprised how much you can change in a short period of time. And as you build confidence, you may be doubly surprised how the other areas in your life don't seem as stressful.
Take care and know that falling is not a setback, but falling down and never having the courage to get back up is.

It's not a wonder you're frustrated. You're totally overwhelmed ! Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality. If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was to drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction. No one ever became a healthy eater overnight. It's impossible. That's why Spark People encourages its members to start with some simple changes first. Don't try to do everything at once.
Example, if you're not used to eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies each day, set a goal to eat 2-3 servings each day for one week. if you're not used to drinking 8 glasses of water, set a goal to drink 2-4 glasses each day for one week. If you're not used to getting regular exercise, set a goal to take a 20-30 minute walk each day for one week. once you've achieved these goals, then you set new ones.
I know organic food can be extremely healthy, BUT there are ways to save money ! Your family can eat healthy on a budget. I recommend reading this Spark article. it has some great tips for eating healthy on a budget.
Don't fixate on your weight. The more you fixate, the more miserable you're going to be. Just taking a 30 minute walk a day will change your health for the better. That's why you start with some simple changes you can stick with. Why ? because one small change will lead to another and another and another. Before you know it, all those small changes will add up into one huge accomplishment.
You're not Wonder Woman. You can't be everything for everyone. You've got to set some priorities. You've got to set some goals. then you need to sit down and decide how you're going to achieve those goals. Yes, we all want to lose weight. Now, the question, HOW are you going to do it ? The Spark People way is by starting with some simple changes.
I have been with Spark for a LONG time. I am SO tired of being so weakminded that I won't stick with losing weight yet I beat myself up every single day over these 30 pounds. What is wrong with me?? Why do I know that I'm worth it but not strong enough, or motivated enough to stick with it? I just joined Spark Live to see if the live meetings help. I think it will. One of my big issues is having so many kids and not having the money to buy my food separately cause healthy food is just too pricey. I know.. if I cook it they'll eat it and yes they will. But I simply can't afford all the food that I would need to feed all three kids, including a 16 and 12 year old, husband and myself. I just registered for school to fix my nursing license because after a LONG process of gaining self worth back that my mom spent my life taking away, I finally know I'm worth it. BUT THIS DAMN WEIGHT! Another thing is I'm trying to find a job after moving back to Fort Worth and it's taking forever which is stressing me out big time. I'm just getting so tired of getting up and falling down. I guess I haven't really "fell down", it's just the frustration of being where I need to be mentally only to be STUCK and can't move because of a damn job! I got a job a month ago and am still waiting for them to put me on payroll so I can't start. That's ridiculous. I've spent two weeks filling out applications all day. I'm just so sick of it. I didn't go to the Y to walk today so me and my 12 year old will do that tonight after they eat dinner. I will NOT miss a day of ME exercising because of my wall that's there again.
