26-31/1 = 23 + 160 = 183.

Hi Cyp! At the moment the only exercise I'm doing is walking and hydrotherapy so I'm spending more time at them than I would if I were doing other things. By March I'm hoping to add other exercise again so I may not have the time to walk so much.
I try to walk first thing in the morning, for at least 30 minutes and preferably 60-75 and then again most evenings for about 30 minutes. Mainly I walk by myself, and sometimes with my husband at weekends, but I'm hoping to try out walking with two different groups in the next few weeks.

158 + 2 miles after upper body weight training = 160. I was going to do 4 miles but I forgot my sweats so I ran on an indoor track; running around that thing over and over starts to get really boring.

Paolina:

With all that mileage, I thought you were running. How long does it take you to walk that much? You must feel really great getting so much walking time in.

I find it easier to stick to walking than to do other things like stretching or not overeating, although the weather is not making it easy at the moment.

24-25/1 = 8 + 150 = 158.

9-11/1 = 6 miles.

I have counted in the two miles you said you would be walking, MrsJaynes, so that makes our total 85 + 5 + 1.5 + 6 = 97.5

Did 3 miles the last two days. Will do 2 more today. How much is all this totalling up to anyway? Have we made 100 yet? 500 miles? How about giving us a running tally once a week or something!

43.5 + 4 miles today. 47.5.

It is very nice here today and it was a pleasure to hit the asphalt. i walk through this neighborhood where my company is located and it always strikes me as funny how few people i see on the street. Huge, empty houses with big SUV's parked out front. Everyone has a basketball hoop in the driveway though.

I'm just going to trust your math PJ.

36.5 + 5 + 2 = 43.5.

I did The Firm Tough Tape on Saturday so my planned 6-mile Sunday run turned into a 2-mile walk with my kid, two neighborhood kids, and their dogs.

Great we are up to 3 miles so far!

I won't get my walking in until tonight.

The distance I walk is usually determined by how far my dog is willing to go.

I'm In!!!! No miles to log yet though.

MrsJanes:

Get a stop watch and time how long it takes you to run a mile measured by car, how to do a brisk walk along that mile, and how to do an easier walk along that mile. Learn your pace and then when you run or walk at work, use your stop watch to estimate the distance. A stop watch is way cheaper than a good pedometer. You can get one for as little as $3 at discount stores and it's easy to find one any time for around $10.

How do u know?? I don't have a pedometer or any device to measure what I'm doing...let me think a minute. I know at home I walked a mile yesterday because that was on the road at my house. {My husband found all the important distance markers one day in the car, you know, 1/2 from this light pole and back, 1 mile to this stop sign, etc} At work, though, I just go up and down several staircases and back forth along a tunnel. ??

I am proposing a challenge to walk or run 3000 miles. This challenge isn't just for me. It is for anyone who wants to help out. Let's see how long it will take us mile movers as a team to walk or run 3000 miles.

If you want to help team Mile Movers walk or run 3000 miles, just post the number of miles you ran or walked each day.
