I often use a little juice for the desire sweetness. Most cocktails I used to find overcloying anyway. I have also noticed that making them less sweet with Setltzer and usuing less of the sweetened mixers, helps me to drink them slower so I take in less over the course of a scoial event.
Flavored seltzer water has become my substitute for Soda in cocktails.

I'm not a huge fan of most flavored vokdas, so I've been doing plain vodka, club soda and a splash of fruit juice. Or replace the juice with some crystal light powder.

I used to love drinking caesars (I'm Canadian) about once a week, but the sodium in them is insane. Since starting healthy eating, I like to stick to white wine, and sometimes I'll get some champagne and add a splash of orange juice.
