pb & j, cut-up fruit, string cheese, small portions of nuts- these will all last a little while without refrigeration. if you're willing to pack a cooler you can make sandwiches, salads, etc ahead of time! hummus wraps, veggies to dip (in hummus or yogurt-based dips), yogurt, etc. and plenty of water!

We have a busy family with 2 working parents and 3 kids ages 4-7-9. I need foods that I can take with instead of eating fast food for a busy family on the run...that all of us will eat. I don't want to eat at fast food...chicken nuggets and fries are the enemy for busy parents trying to raise healthy kids and lose weight myself.
