Thanks to you all for your posts on this subject. I'm looking for shorts for a cruise and I plan to hit up TJMAXX now!

The last shorts I bought from Old navy, but I usually shop T.J. Maxx. Classics from L.L. Bean's and North Face and Columbia.

I have a lot of success finding shorts (and other clothes) at TJMaxx. Because they get their clothes from all sorts of different brands/stores, there are a lot of different fits and options available for each size. Odds are there is something that will fit anyone there! You just have to have time to try on things & search through the racks.

I have several pairs of Gap shorts that are mid length. I'm not a big fan of jean shorts (aka "jorts" emoticon ), but I noticed that they have some really cute bright colored denim shorts this year. I went with the full length colored jeans instead.

Just curious, where do you buy shorts from? I'm trying to buy some regular, normal denim shorts and am having a hard time finding some that are not booty shorts that show the bottom of my butt and are so tight that they cut off the circulation to my thighs, or so dowdy that they look triangular on me and the hems brush my knees. There has to be a happy medium between the two but I am getting tired of looking.
