Do not give up. I have "stalled out " with the scales but I am walking more than I have in years and my clothes are fitting me so much better. As a matter of fact, I am down 2 sizes from when I started Sparking in January. The scales often do not give a true reflection of weight loss. I journal everything that I eat and this also helps me. I was shocked when I saw how much I eat. I am getting this under control-it is slow going but I will do it. Stick with it and you will see results. Good luck and Spark On!

You can't change the past, but you can influence and change the future. Twice in my life I've weighed over 200+ pounds. A few years ago, I made a decision that that was not going to happen a third time. That was my turning point. We all have those in life. We reach a crossroads where we have to decide which way we want to go. Don't be afraid to do something that takes you out of your comfort zone. Yes, in order to be healthy, you're going to have to do things that you might not want to do. You might have to get up early in the morning to get a workout in.
But you know what ? You really are worth all the extra effort. I know the challenge may seem daunting, that's why you can't look at the "big" picture. Let's say you want to lose 50 pounds. Don't look at this as having to lose fifty. Start with the first five. Once you've lost the first five, you move on to the next five. Each time you lose five pounds, that brings you closer to the goal of losing 50.
That's how good health starts. It starts by setting some simple, realistic and reasonable goals. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. AND don't expect miracles. While we'd all love for the weight to be magically gone overnight, it's not as simple as they make it look on the Biggest Loser. those types of losses are just not typical. Weight loss really is a slow steady process that takes time.

The first step is always the hardest, try with an easy couple of goals at first. Maybe tonight instead of sitting in front of the TV or going to bed you could try a short 10 minutes sparkpeople video (or even shorter there is a 6 minute butt video that Coach Nicole does that always gets me going!!), or trade in all your high calorie snacks today for fruits or veggies.
Little changes like that will give you the motivation to keep going ~ you will feel so much better!! Don't forget, we are all here for support.

It's so easy for us to focus on all the could've, would've, should'ves instead on the positive things that we do.
Changing life-long habits takes dedication, determination, perseverance and most of all time. So many of us have made unhealthy habits such a big part of our life that it is going to take more than a few weeks or months to truly integrate the new habits into our lives so that we no longer have to think we just do.
If you look at this journey as a quick means to get to a certain number on the scale only to go back to the way you used to live, you will not keep it off for long.
Just by making small permanent changes into your life can lead to big results down the road. There is no place for perfection in this journey we call healthy living. One oopsie moment doesn't mean we have blown it for the day...we always have the opportunity to make healthy choices any time.
Every day brings the opportunity of new beginnings...if you fall, pick yourself back up and carry on and know that your SparkPeople friends are here to help you along.

I am reading these blogs. I feel exactly the same way, as many as you do. I started spark people thinking this is it...I am going to do it. Where am I at? Gaining weight. I feel awful! I am the heaviest that I have been ever. I am not sure what to do. All I think about is eating...it is so frustrating! HELP!
