Organic, brown, whole eggs; fresh from the chickens little warm feathery bum. My friends had free ranging, which meant they were allowed outside during the day to feed on all the bugs and were put up at night with a little grain. Unfortunately people in the country get dogs dumped on them all the time and these dogs normally kill everything they can find and they have decided not to replace their last hens so I am having to buy them from the store.

Meat! It really doesen't take a mega amount to recieve a daily percentagr of protien.
Probably half-fat cheese. I can get a couple of decent varieties from the supermarket which are fine for sandwiches and toppings for meals, but not so nice that I eat it straight out the packet like I do with full-fat. A close second would be chickpeas.

I'm a black bean junkie!
Yesterday was black beans and lean ground beef cooked with some corn and taco seasoning rolled in a tortilla...nom!
I also make black bean burgers. I (the above being the first time this month) rarely eat ground beef burgers since I started with these.

A pot of beans with homemade salsa is hard to beat! I like chicken, steak, eggs, all of that too.
The one I actually get every day (nearly) is powder form, EAS whey protein powder. I mix it with almond milk and a banana almost every morning for breakfast.
Beans, eggs, some gardein (meat analog products). No meat for me.

Meat in general. I dislike eggs so those are out. Steak is my favorite but that's not in the budget too often, so chicken comes in second. It's so versatile and you can do all kinds of stuff to it to make it good.

As it is just myself & my husband at home now, I cook recipes that serve 4. I freeze the other 2 portions for later use--like having my own frozen meals that are easy to use. I use frozen chicken tenders a lot because I can take out the amount that I need for a recipe & don't even have to defrost them for more than 10 minutes. Also, frozen shrimp or fish is another fast meal starter. I like to buy these on sale so that I can save some money,too. Sometimes, if we have had a heavy calorie meal at mid day, we might just have a home made fruit smoothie for our evening meal. I always use Whey protein powder (French vanilla flavor) when making the smoothies...it is important to keep the level of protein up or you will not lose weight. I love beans - especially black beans. I also have recently started doing a lot with lentils - I like to use them as a substitute for taco meat. Quinoa is higher in protein than rice, so I find myself using quinoa is place of rice quite often. I don't eat a lot of meat, but when I do, it's usually chicken or salmon.
