I have been struggling for quite awhile now...months even. It seems every time I try to get back in the swing, something goes haywire in my life causing me to rearrange my priorities. I know my health should come first and that if I don't care for myself no one will but it still doesn't help with the mind talk and life's happenings. I am going to Curves tonight for the first time in a long time...kind of expecting something bad to happen though lol Wish me luck!!!

Glad I'm not the only one, had a three day weekend and ate out every day, also didn't exercise. But I look at it as today is Monday, a new day, the start of a new week and a chance to get back on track and see what I can do this week, and how I can improve this coming weekend.

Struggling feels as it has become my middle name this week..... No weight loss, not motivated and very down.

I'm struggling right now, too. It seems like I can do fabulous for about 3-4 days. But by the 4th and 5th days, I start craving junk food, and once I give in, I am derailed for a few more days. That's where I am right now. I derailed a few days ago, and I'm still struggling to get back on track.

One thing that has consistently helped me, though, is getting on the message boards and reading that other people are having a rough stretch, too. It reminds me that I am not alone in this and that if other people can overcome their slumps, so can I. That's actually why I am posting this now!

It has been helpful to write all of this down. I'm going to get back on track starting right now! Thanks!

Something I do on weekends that helps keep me on track is pick a new Spark recipe that looks good and make it. I usually do something that's a little more involved than I would normally do on a week night. There are all kinds of good fish recipes on Spark, and I've been saying for years I don't eat a lot of fish because I grew up with beef and I don't really know how to cook fish..... Turns out it's not hard to cook at all, and it's delicious and gives you a lot of protein.

Oh! Also, I have to often remind myself that when I am feeling excluded by my friends, maybe that is the way they are feeling too. Or sometimes it is because they have something stressful going on in their life...I have to remind myself to pick up the phone or send them a "hello" email...then I feel better and can at least put it out of my mind for awhile emoticon

I would like to say I have just the answer you need, but I have the same problem, especially Sunday night when the weekend is over. Then Monday I am extremely motivated again. I think it is because by Friday I haven't accomplished everything on my list and then I give up and give in to temptations.

Having said that, normally I don't want to go out on Saturday. I bum around the house in my pajamas or shorts. This last Saturday, I got up and mowed the lawn (forced myself to) and then took my daughters to a a downtown shopping area where we went to antique shops and just walked around. It was a lot of fun (once I got there). So I guess, even if you have to force yourself, or "pretend" to have fun while exercising or when you are feeling a bit blue will get you into a routine and once something is a routine it gets easier. That's my theory anyway emoticon

had a really bad weekend. failed in all of my goals and am just feeling very excluded/discouraged by friends and life. i know failure is inevitable and you just have to pick yourself up and keep going. but i could use some encouragement and would love to hear your success stories!

also, any tips on making healthy choices on weekends? i seem to do great monday through friday and then saturday rolls around and i fall way short.
