Yesterday my doctor reminded me that it took years to get this heavy. He asked me why I thought it should take weeks to lose it. He reminded me that a diet is where we constantly obsess about our weight, a lifestyle change is where we enjoy the journey and the results of the changes are the icing on the cake. He told me to enjoy every change, to sit back and relax. He said there will be more than just weight loss and better health to enjoy...there will be new foods, new friends, better skin, nicer hair, more energy, better sleep, new adventures like fitting into a booth, or a seat on a ride....so much much more than what the scale says......he said kick back and enjoy the WHOLE journey because its a trip that will never end like a diet would....so there will be a whole lifetime of new things to look forward to in this journey! Keep my eyes and my mind open all the way on this adventure....not just focussed on my weight!
