Good job!

This is week 1 for me...I'm seriously trying to focus more on exercising and eating right. I joined SP this week so I can be more involved and read about other people's stuggles to help motivate me and keep me in the right mindset.

Hi Auntmissa -

Congratulations on the weight loss! I know exactly what you mean about being impatient. But your enthusiasm is contagious!

Just keep up that enthusiasm and motivation even when you don't feel like you're making progress. Muscle holds more water, so if you lift weights you may see a steady or even "up" on the scale for a little while until your body adjusts. Perhaps use measurements other than the scale to see your progress (measuring tape, a pair of jeans you can almost fit into, etc.) just to keep the frustration factor at a minimum.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race! You can do it!

in the past i give up after the 2nd week because i usually only see a one lb or half lb loss(yes,i know thats the safest way to go but i have friends who seem to be able to lose way more in a shorter period of time,they weigh more than me to start tho.yes i know this is pathetic but im just being honest).im very impatient!
anyways im down 1.5 lbs in 2 weeks and really excited and i must thank sparkpeople and of course God! i love logging in to get my points and meeting new people on here.i cant wait to do a workout or such cuz i love to log it on here and get points.i feel like im being "rewarded" lol i got a new food journal and have printed some new recipes im excited to try! this weekend i will be buying a watch that is a heart rate monitor and calorie counter so i can see my true calorie burn during a workout!
