Sparkpeople

Hi there,

I am newly BACK to sparkpeople with a brand new spark and I will say after time and again on WW. I LOVE sparkpeople!

FREE is a beautiful thing and honestly I found WW online dreadful, (cost $$ ouch) and looking up foods was not nearly as easy with WW online.

My issue with WW meetings were that it seemed most people just wanted to complain about what they weren't eating. AND I got looks from members when I would bring my daughter. She wasn't a baby, nor did she act up. BUT she sat in someone's seat and they didn't like it. WOW, I was amazed at how people can behave. I do realize this was an isolated incident but nonetheless, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention, over the years I have grown exhausted in being a "market". WW seemed to me to be less and less about weight loss and more about how we can schlep our products. NO thanks!

So, where would I rather be? Sparkpeople for sure!!

Best wishes to you on your decision and your efforts, no matter what you choose!

I recently canceled my ww membership and decided to get back with spark. I lost 20lbs with ww and still love the program but I just need to switch it up right now since I've been hovering around the same number for a while.

I have heard great things about both, but I have only used Sparkpeople. I did discuss my weight loss plans and goals with my doctor, and she said that the sparkpeople method is healthy and promises to lead to permanent weight loss.
Both weight watchers and sparkpeople will teach you how to implement a new lifestyle, and that's the key-- this is a change you have to make, and stick to.

Best of luck!!

I used a many approach attack to stay on the wagon almost a decade..

1. Therapy for personal problems
2. A small weight loss concept with face to face dietitian help
3. Sparkspeople tools
4. A team of doctors

No one place is enough- it is a as many approach attack that got me over maintenance..

I can forget to log into sparkspeople- but if I made appointments with a therapist and a dietitican they are a little harder to lie to and blow off..

I will not even say friends helped me do it- none of the people I met were remotely serious about sticking around for me.. They poked me until I did something about myself, fell off the wagon than continue to pack on the weight.. I have been looking for a partner serious about workout together again if I waited for them, never would have gotten started..

emoticon

Getting to the nitty gritty- life is choices I can continue like my family and die or change my ways for the right reasons aka being independant when I get old without assistance.. When our health cracks and we are dependant on others- whom says the deal offered of help is pleasant?

I am totally prejudiced because I simply love Sparkpeople. I highly recommend it for several reasons. Here are a few of them: 1) It's free 2) You don't have to count points 3) consistent use of the Nutrition Tracker (you must not exceed the daily ranges for calories, carbs, fat, and protein), 4) the free workout videos with Coach Nicole.

I invite you to take the plunge again. Come join us as we reach our goals together.

Spark On!

I have been an active member of sparkpeople in the past and lost 16 pounds. Then my life got pretty chaotic and I just stopped trying and gained it back. Then, alot of people that I know started weight watchers so I started 4 months ago. I lost 25 pounds in the first 3 months, but have been at a standstill on my weight for the past month. I am also getting a little bored of weight watchers and counting points and it's becoming harder to stick with. I am wondering if a change back to sparkpeople might be what I need. But I'm torn on what to do since I did lose 25 pounds with ww.....any thoughts or pros/cons on each? I have 125 more pounds to go.
