Hey I'm another Southern Ontario gal and also cannot wait for spring! Although I have to say I haven't found this winter as bad as some, I mean winter didnt really even start until just before christmas. I do walk outside every morning at 6:30 a.m. with my dog, it gets me wide awake before the kids get up, I just have to bundle up to do it!
Hang in there friends! It will be warm soon enough (I LOVE LOVE LOVE the heat of summer, hiking on the Bruce trail, picnics!)

I really hope spring gets here soon. The plants are thinking its getting warmer. Its pretty to see them running outside, but I am nto a fan of all the layers I need to put on before going outside. Sunny skies would be the best. I agree dark and dreary not so nice.

Guess we are definitely all on the same page there!! Temps have been a little better the last couple of days but the skies are dark and dreary... I really could use some sun. At least at this time of the year the sun starts to feel warmer and gives us a hint or a small tease of what is to come... but I sure wish it would hurry up!!
I know, I'm too scared to run outside because of the ice!

Hey it's March on Friday! The sun's just come out in UK. (Though I'm wearing my dressing gown on top of my clothes at the moment as the sun's only been out 5 minutes.) I have snowdrops and miniature irises out in the garden. No frogspawn yet as February's been colder than normal. Anyway, I'm going to have some lunch and hang the washing outside. Then I'm going to plant some broad beans (I think that's fava beans for my American cousins!) and maybe have a start at digging through the compost bin.

I am sick of the gloomy, cold, icy mess we all are sharing. I want the sun up by 5 a.m. and I want to smell the great outdoors and see the green leaves on the trees, and just the smell of cut grass.

I know exactly what you mean. Everyone keeps telling me that January and February just flew by. To me they seem like they each lasted six months. They were just so frigid. We didn't get much snow, but that doesn't upset me in the least. If I never saw snow again it would be too soon.
Hate Winter. Love Summer
I hope that things get better for you and you start seeing signs of spring up in Canada.
I like the snow and cold up until Christmas...and then I get really sick of it. We also had an unseasonably warm winter/spring last year and that was awesome. I CAN'T WAIT for daylight savings time to start in a couple weeks, I am so much more likely to get things done in the evening when it's light out. And I am looking forward to some walks outside!

I so agree! My grocery store has so little to offer to give me satisfying meals. I'm tired of canned and frozen stuff - can't wait until strawberries and watermelon and catalope are available again!
Lay aside life-harming heaviness and entertain a cheerful disposition.

I love winter. It is my favorite season. Love everything about it except the short days and no fresh veggies from the garden. I hope we have one more snow storm before all is said and done. I do appreciate spring when we have had a good winter. I would love summer if not for the extreme heat at time. Hate being confined to air conditioning.

Guess I'm an odd man out because I'm the opposite - I love winter and hate summer. I used to love summer, but lately we don't have pleasant summers anymore. It's always so blasted hot and humid that you don't want to do anything but stay locked in the a/c all day.
Summer just isn't enjoyable to me anymore.

Me too & I live where it doesn't snow.

I agree! Can't wait till we can retire and move somewhere with milder winters.

Southern Ontario, here also. ;)
Ugh! I totally get you. I feel the exact same way. We were spoiled last winter, hardly any snow and in the 80's by March. This one is just dragging on. It is going out like a lion and not even a speck of light on the horizon as far as risings temps go.
I want to start gardening, going for walks to run errands, going for nature hikes, flowers blooming, everything turning from dingy brown to green, thunderstorms, robins returning, Easter (making easter treats with the kids and painting eggs and spending time with my family and inlaws who have been in Mexico all winter, lucky ducks), taking the kids outside to play in the backyard while sipping a smoothie or tea, closeting winter coats/snowpants/hats/mitts, barefeet, spring/summer clothes shopping!!!
It's my first spring/summer wardrobe that I'll shop for in 5 years that doesn't feel depressing and an evil necessity. I'll be able to finally choose clothes based on whether or not I like them, not just because they don't fit absolutely horrible on me. No more thunder thighs, flabby arms, pregnant belly. Shopping for my spring/summer wardrobe this year has been my long awaited reward at the end of my weight loss journey. This spring brings new horizons for me!
"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. It doesn't happen, what does happen is you get results. Lifting Barbie weights does nothing but waste time.

I hate winter too, but I keep seeing signs that spring is right around the corner here (DC area). Birds chirping back from wherever they fly to, a neighbor's lawn COVERED with purple wildflowers, days where it's up to 50 degrees and sunny enough to take a long walk.

I hate winter myself! I LOVE my treadmill though! Gives me a chance to workout everyday--regardless of weather. I NEVER walk outside until the roads are completely dry & ice-free. I can't risk a slip or fall now that I am missing a disk in my lower spine!

I am an outdoors type of person. There has not been one winter day I have not gone out side for a walk-run with the dog. There were many cold days but but being outside I feel a sense of being refreshed. I have also taken a lot of pictures.. It was spectacular to watch a snow squall go by. I posted a few pics on my page

i am so done with winter!!! i am tired of winter foods and winter time fruit & veg prices! i want to get outside..walking, running, biking, playing with the kids...and actually ENJOY myself ( i am so not a cold weather enthusiast!) i am ready for the sun to stay out past 5:30pm....actually i am just ready for the sun to actually come out in the first place!
i have reached the low point of winter...cabin fever, headachy, pissy mood...and the weatherman says that the next few weeks are just going to be more of the same around here. urgh!!!!
