Time to Get Healthy

I have been overweight my whole life. I worry now that my health is going to start being effected. I have been fortunate to this point. I am married with only a furry child. He is actually my husbands service dog, however he is also my baby. My husband is disabled, back and leg issues.

I want to start getting into better shape as I loose weight also. I am fairly sedentary, working as a special education teacher. I have also had a health issue with my leg, which has made exercising ...

I have also had a health issue with my leg, which has made exercising more challenging. In fact for the past year the doctor has had me completely down when not at work, with my leg elevated.

My Goals:
My goal is to become healthier as I lose weight. My husband and I recently purchased property and am working on building a home. It will be rural, where I can raise a garden and animals. I want to be able to do this and enjoy it, not make it a chore because I am overweight and to tired.

My Program:
I am going to start by cutting out one or two junk items a week and keep track of my food and activity.

SparkPeople is a great site. It can be overwhelming at first. So pick one or two things to concentrate on for now. Then you can add others as you go.

The coaches have a lot of exercises that are seated only. You might modify some of them to fit your needs.

Good luck. If you have any questions be sure to ask. There are many helpful people on the boards that can help.
