As you can tell by my user name I am a proud Grandmother who is known as Nana. I retired in May! I am having a wonderful time with my new found freedom. I need to lose some weight so that I can keep active and enjoy many years of retirement.

I lost over 50 pounds between April 17, 2011 and December 1, 2011 using Sparks. Right after completion, I did a good job of maintaining my weight. Over the past few years I have gone up and down. I currently need to once again lose 50 pounds to be at my ideal weight, but ultimately I want to feel better in my clothes and to reduce stress on my joints. I had my left hip replaced in March of 2015. I will need to have the other hip replaced in the next 2 years.

My Goals:
Final goal weight 138. My goals this time around are going to focus on my health and taking the weight off in a way that fits my new retired life style. I am not planning to drop my weight in one frantic dash. I am going to have a long term goal of reaching 138. My first phase will be to lose 10 pounds before I leave on my next trip.

Weigh 178 by September 20, 2016.

Drink lots of water. Eat light snacks 3 times per day. Have my main meal mid-day.



My Program:
Eating 1200-1400 calories per day.

I am going to use Slim Fast shakes 2 times per day. My one meal per day will be around 400 calories, with a protein and salad or other low cal side. I am going to eat 3 - 100 calorie snacks per day. Between phases I will be eating to enjoy life, but will be in maintenance mode. Which means not overeating or too many treats.

Drinking 8 glasses of water per day.



Personal Information:
I live in Northern California.
I love to travel, read and garden. I retired in May and am loving my new found freedom. I have already taking two trips and am planning 3 more for in the next 6 months. I have two grown sons and 2 grandchildren who are all doing me proud.

    well I have 1 more major bill that HAS to be paid off and that will be in 13 months I will only be 63 and still to early so if I can STAND to do another 9-12 months ...no more than 2 more winters I will and pay off another bill. I won't leave my mom by herself and since Joshua my son moved back from New York, and finally has a job he is helping me out a lot around the house and starting to pay me back for helping him out financially. So it is getting there!
