Journey back to me

It is silly at best to wish to be 21 again, to hope for the return of that toned body, tight skin, sparkling eyes, and boundless energy. It is a waste of time to wish I'd appareciated youth more when I had it. What I want to do now, what I wish to do, what I need to do is accept who I am, where I am, and welcome my present and my future with open arms and an open mind.

I am so tired of making excuses, I'm tired of dieting, I'm tired of starting over, I'm tired of talking about ...

What I want to do now, what I wish to do, what I need to do is accept who I am, where I am, and welcome my present and my future with open arms and an open mind.

I am so tired of making excuses, I'm tired of dieting, I'm tired of starting over, I'm tired of talking about it, reading about it, and VERY tired of my half-hearted attempts at it. With a new month I've made a new commitment and, I will admit, this time it feels different. Maybe I'm just tired but I really do feel different since I came to some realizations tonight as I typed out my blog. There is a clarity of mind that has been missing before. This time really IS going to be different.

Twenty-one will never rear her lovely head again. But fifty-four can still be good, even great IF I take care of me, stop making excuses, work hard, be honest, and be consistent. I look forward to tomorrow. I look forward to who I'm becoming.

Accentuate the positive when it comes to food. "Diet" implies
a rigorous, self-sacrificed discipline that's doomed to fail. Instead,
focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day,
rather than what you shouldn't eat. When you consume more
fruits, vegetables, healthy fats (such as olive oil and nuts) and
lean proteins, your hunger will be satisfied and you'll naturally
want to make better food choices! Keep this in mind today and
the forthcoming weekend!
