i am 47 years old and weight 185 lbs. I had different goals in the past but want to change them and begin anew. I used to focus only on wanting to lose 43 lbs. Now I have learned here at SparksPeople that I should focus on my diet. It's a mess. I need to change from eating out and junk foods and bingeing. I will look more closely at the way I eat. I want to redo my diet to include 2 fruits and 2 veggies a day. I want to cook more at home and cook healthy recipes that are simple but delicious. I ...

I want to teach my son how to eat right but I must change our diets in order to set a good example for him before he goes off to college in a couple of years. My new goal is to, by August, 2008, make the changes permanent that I have mentioned. I want to live healthy and for my son to live a healthier life. I have to reach this goal for both of us. Then I can focus more on weight loss. Time to get healthy!

Hi there. I saw in the huddle you could use some support. My name is Luz, 41, mother of 4 and raised my niece and nephew. I joined SP in July to kick start an new change in my life. My oldest started college, following her cousins footsteps and my youngest started kindergarten. I was in going from 6 kids in the house to none for 8 hrs a day. A shock to have to face myself and so it was important to now make choices that would effect my kids lives but essentially for myself.
I lost a little over 25 lbs over the last year and need to lose 30 to get to my healthy BMI. Of course I would love to lose more but I am taking small steps to assure permanent change.
Anyway I know I am long winded but I wanted to let you know that you can do it and feel free to stop by anytime. I want to support you in anyway I can.
Luz

I read your message on the Christian Living Huddle wall---congratulations on rededicating your life to Christ. In so doing, know that you CAN do ALL THINGS in Christ who strengthens you. Let no barrier nor discouragement get in your way. While you begin to experience those goals you have set, give God the Glory!
Blessings!
---Cynthia
