Christie's journey

My name is Christie. I am 46. I have one son who is seven-years-old. He is my blessing as it took eight years to get pregnant. In January 0f 2012, we were blessed with my "surprise" baby, Madeline Rose.

I am finally committed to get fit and healthy so that I can be a role model to my children. No more excuses.

I am also going to focus on healthy eating for me and my family.

I hope that my weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey motivates you as well.

Step #1: Lose baby weight. Goal is 139 lbs. Lose about 22lbs [almost there...come on Christie!]

Step #2: Drink water

Step #3: Exercise

My Goals:
My goal is to finally be consistent with exercise and to eat in a healthy manner.

I would like fitness to be a major part of life and to be lean and healthy once again.

A clothing size goal would be size 8 and I want to wear my wedding ring once again.

My Program:
Long term goal: Working out four days per week and charting my fitness minutes.

Short term goals:

1) Drinking 8 glasses of water each day.

2) Eating fruit daily.

3) Tracking my food daily.

Personal Information:
*Mom to a son, seven-year-old Nason whom I never thought I would have. I also have a two-year-old daughter, my surprise at age 43!

Other Information:
Heading toward a goal of size 8, but really want to be a size 6.

Fun information:

My favorite movies are: Gone With The Wind, Funny Farm, Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) and When Harry Met Sally.

The cold weather is getting to me, but it will not win the war. What is getting to you and slowing your progress? Let me know and I will gladly pray with you for your victory. Whatever the challenge, let's keep the main thing the main thing and find the victory there. Enjoy the journey, and remember, progress--not perfection. Change comes here a little and there a little as we stay the course. Remember that true success is in how we make the journey, not the destination. If we lose all our weight but fail the change the habits that put us there, we may feel victorious in reaching the destination, but it will be short lived if we don't find the victory needed on the journey of true change. emoticon emoticon emoticon Darlene emoticon Go Mustangs! There is victory in the journey lived well.

Worry over the future breeds anxiety. Fretting over the past breeds depression. Both can stop our good movement forward and put us in front of the TV with a bad movie and too much of the stuff we dont need to put into our bodies. That horrid cycle, of course, breeds regret and dread that brings us to more of the same. I believe that is called insanity.

Instead work to stay in the present taking the next step needed for living to the full the now that is before you, having learned better ways from past experience and pushing forward with hope that right action now will produce a better tomorrow. This is living life with power that produces a good outcome and protects our journey from wasting away.

Plan for the future, yes; but let the first plan be to live your best you in the now you have to possess.
