My Goals:
-At least 5 servings of veggies per day
-No wheat
-At least 60 grams of a variety of plant based proteins per day

My Program:
I love endorphins, so I love to work out. I work out at the Y 3-4 days a week, some sort of strength training at home the other days.

I drink at least 16 glasses of water per day without trying. I think I was a fish in a past life.

Tracking my foods is my biggest challenge, the key to my everlasting success, the hardest part to maintain, the easiest to give up, the carrot at the end of the stick. As long as I make myself keep tracking, I know I'll eventually get down to a healthy weight, because it automagically keeps me accountable!

Personal Information:
I work as a community organizer for women's shelter programs.
I've had chronic depression & PTSD for as long as I can remember. Recently, my psych dr prescribed "Mandatory Fun, Joy, Passion and not getting into any fuddy duddy routines." Best advice I've ever gotten!

Other Information:
Don't put me in any boxes, especially with labels on them.

“Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s when you’ve had everything to do, and you’ve done it.” – Margaret Thatcher

Lesson: You might sometimes dream about a slow day, but you know you thrive when things get crazy. Don’t rest on your laurels when you could be challenging yourself to do and be better.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Thanks, Sharon. Yes, I'd say my week is going pretty well. M-W-F DH and I are painting outside doors and trim - quite a bit of work to it. : )
Tuesday a.m. I volunteered at the hi school, and mid-day that day DH and I went to the 2nd gr class for close to 1-1/2 hr of fun. :) Went to the shelter yesterday -- cross your fingers that the kitties will be off quarantine by the time I get there next week. But one of them is supposed to be adopted out this weekend - I don't know whether or smile or cry. I really like her, but I'm glad she's getting a forever home. The adoptive parents has been told that she has had ringworm, but is fine now.

“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.”

Anne Lamott, author

Wishing you an awesome week of showing up and getting results.

Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you
know they are always there.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friends Online

We’ve never really met
I’ve never seen your face
Though I consider you a friend
The best in cyberspace
Somehow we clicked
with more than just a mouse
We have talks over coffee
without leaving the house.

If ever I see you,
My best online bud
I’d give you a smile
and embrace you with a hug.
To simply say thank you
For all that you do
And for not taking me,
At “face value”.
