Getting and Staying Healthy For Life

It has taken me a lifetime to get where I am today, it wasn't so fast!
I have been up & down on the scale so many times I just want it to end!
In 2009 my doctor told me I would have to take cholesterol meds to lower my cholesterol and then when the Long Term Health Care application was rejected because I was 20 lbs over their limit, I knew it was time again to try to get to a healthier weight. Besides, I hated how I looked in a pic!
Really to stay motivated isn't very easy ...

Really to stay motivated isn't very easy for me, I need a support system, and constant reminders. The weight creeps back in to my life when I don't keep my goals in check.
The SP Fitness Tracker is awesome, I love mapping the different routs we take. After logging my food I use the daily analysis, it is great to see that my eating and exercise was in sync or not!

My Goals:
1. Workout in a.m.
2. Eat within my calorie zone
3. Drink 8 - 10 or more water daily
4. Stay focused
5. Track my meals and fitness
6. Log into SP daily
7. Support others and engage in a support system
8. Go to bed early and wake up early (8 hrs)
9. Maintain a healthy weight the rest of my life

My Program:
Stay within my calorie range
Take psyllium husk with almond milk every night
Plan ahead by thinking about what I will eat in the upcoming week
workout in my fat burning zone for at least 45 min 6X a week
drink water - no soda pop!
eat more freggies (fruit & veggies)
Stay dedicated to the 5% break challenge

Personal Information:
Walking, biking, aerobics, and strength training, are my favorite way to be active. Using the hula hoop is fun too, but I don't burn off many calories doing it. If you want to hula hoop, make sure it is as round as you are tall. A weighted one will be easier to use.
I am determined to stay motivated!
Everyone at SP is a great network for support and strength!
Since before we retired, my dear hubby and I have been walking for over 10 yrs and he is one of my best hiking & biking partners!

Other Information:
Leading OSM, a support group that I started in August (2014) for myself and a few of my friends. We already have a new member! We are all struggling with food issues. Ask me what O.S.M. stands for.
I am more determined than ever to get back to my goal weight. My DH & I celebrated 29 yrs of marriage this year and have been snowbirds for 4 yrs now. We are expecting our 5th grand baby this November. I am a self-taught knitter and crocheter. Just learning how to knit.
Turmeric is a great pain reliever and it reduces inflammation in the body.
Challenges keep me on track!

Thank you for the belated Birthday Wishes! Boy am I getting old!
I didn't do so well on the summer challenge and not sure if I will sign up for the Fall one.
There has been a lot of issues with our internet and just getting on to post minutes has been a challenge, let alone network with my friends. Pretty done in the dumps about that whole issue.
Good luck to you the next round, I am sure you will rock it!
BTW, just what is OSM and where to you find psyllium husks? I think I might need to order that online since I can't find it in the store around here.

Yeah !! DELIGHTED ur BACK as a DAWGGIE for the FALL CHALLENGE !! R U doing the things Lynn is gearing us up with on the Fall Challenge site? Tonight I did 3 goals. I also did my intro. Its not going to be easy to be "happy for a bit,,,, as I write,, my Daddy is slowly dying,, and its soo horrid,, NO ONE Esp him,, who's never hurt anyone in his non drinking yrs (so from the age of 30 onward). He's such a GENTLE GIANT !! I will MISS HIM Alley !!! I ve been one of the SO FORTUNATE,, in that here I am in my mid 50s,,,, and TA DA,,, I've had him this long !! It should be in any time to 7 days,, maybe ???? longer,,, for we think his brain is almost gone,, but tonight when i called,, he knew me,,,, yeah well,, I am the only gal,, outta 5 kids. he has always spoiled me. In turn,, i have always put him on a petasil. I will SO SOREY MISS HIM !! He s in FL,, i am in Maine,, and with my foot in the cast,,, and dealing with the infection,, which is now going away finally, I am FORBIDDEN from travelling.
