I live in Las Vegas NV and work in the gaming sector. I've been married since 2005 to my sweet and wonderful hubby, Chuck. We've been together since March 10th, 1998. I have two kids, Jason and Karry . Karry has a cute son, Caleb and beautiful baby girl, Malia. I'm an old lady...59 now. But just between you and I...I don't feel that old! LOL

I've been on this weight loss journey for a while now. I'll be on it the rest of my life. But to me it's worth it!

I live in Las Vegas with my husband. We were married in 2005. But have been together since 1998. We met online and got married in a drive though wedding here in Las Vegas. We've lived in Las Vegas for a number of years. We're into drag racing and each other. Hubby is a Steelers fan and I'm a Seachicken's fan(Seahawks). We had two cats...Alex and Stinky. We've lost both to old age and they are missed greatly. Now we have Myles (he's a pretty boy) and Ms Penny (a total DIVA!). Both are totally spoiled. :)

Just skip it and go on to 3 or you may get bogged down forever. That's what rewrites are for. And ten chapters down the road what you wrote may not work anyway. So just go with your gut!

LOOOOOONG story about how I got the dragonfly as my muse. Suffice it to say God says my emotions are just like that. All over the place at once!

It's 10:30 and I just got on here to check to see if you'd sent it, but I can barely keep my eyes open. I'll read it first thing in the morning. Can't wait!
Hugs, me

Please, yes! I'd love to read it! ASAP. And yes, I think I did find one on here for writers once. But I didn't join because I figured that was taking me away from what I was really here for...

I spent a lot of time researching that very thing, only to find it just depends on the author! Some authors write very short chapters, others like Jody Hedlund (whose blog I have followed for awhile along with KM Weiland who wrote that book about writing novels) write upwards of 3000 wpc. I've never read anything by Hedlund. She writes for Bethany House so I know she's a Christian. I tend to shy away from Christian romances. But it just so happens I'm really interested in the subject matter of her new book Captured by Love. It takes place on Mackinac Island, Michigan during the war of 1812. So I bought it.

I actually counted out a couple of her chapters to see how long they were. Chapters will usually be about 300 words per page. But she only has 26 chapters in the book. And several of them are way less than that.
I think I have 54 chapters in Glencara's Bane. I averaged around about 1500 per chapter. Sea Jade is turning out to be a bit longer just because I'm so much more into these characters. They're somewhere between 1500 and 2000. I figure that's a good number to aim for.

I'm sending you a pin about how many words in different types of manuscripts. A novella is between 20,000 - 50,000. A regular novel is 50,000 - 110,000 (which is what I figured Hedlund's book was, around 110,000). It says most publishes prefer a first novel to be around 70,000. I'm SOOO close on Glencara's Bane. 68,540, if I remember right.

Unfortunately the pin doesn't mention ebooks, which I'm really curious about. But I have a friend who has published several, and I would say they fall around 7,500 to maybe 10,000.

Let me know if you don't get that pin.
