Hi, my name is Alicia. I've been somewhat overweight since the age of 13. By the time I graduated high school, I was about 214. But then I went off to college, and because I changed how I was eating, and I walked everywhere, I lost almost 40 lbs, and got down to 175, and felt really good. But after going on an antidepressant 2-3 years later, I gained back all the weight, plus some. By the time I graduated from college, I was at 275. Later I did lose 30 lbs, but of course, I gained some of it back. I've yo-yo-ed a few more times, and I'm just tired of it.
I want to look good, and be confident. And of course, I want to be in better shape overall. No more pain in my ankles and knees. I'm too young to be like this.

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to 150 lbs. I also would like to feel better about myself, and have my boobs actually stick out more than my stomach!

My Program:
I'm starting out slow. My doctor wanted me to try taking Metformin, which is usually used to treat type II diabetes, but I'm taking it for insulin resistance. A year or so later, she started me on Synthroid because my thyroid blood test was on the low side of normal. (I was taken off Synthroid Jan 2015). I got motivated to get healthy again a few months ago when a lot of people in my office were getting healthy, so in April 2016, I decided to quit eating out as much, and cut back on the soda. Now, instead of eating out every meal like I used to, we eat out once or twice or week. And I've had maybe 5 sodas since April. I started at 224.4 lbs in April, and as of 07/24/16, I'm at 199 lbs. Hello, ONEderland!
