Hi, my name is Alicia. I've been somewhat overweight since the age of 13. By the time I graduated high school, I was about 214. My freshman year of college, I was down to 175 (-40 lbs), and felt really good. I wasn't even trying to lose weight; it was just such a drastic change in lifestyle. But after going on an antidepressent 2-3 years later, I gained back all the weight, plus some. By the time I graduated from college, I was at 275. I did lose 30 lbs at one point, but of course, I've gained some of it back. I've recently gotten fed up, and want to try again. I'm starting my goals over on Sparkpeople. I started at 263 lbs, and I'd like to be about 150 lbs (although just getting below 200 lbs again would be wonderful). And of course, I want to be in better shape overall. No more pain in my ankles and knees, no more huffing and puffing when I go up the stairs. I'm too young to be like this.

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to 150 lbs. I also would like to feel better about myself, and have my boobs actually stick out more than my stomach!

My Program:
I'm starting out slow. My doctor wanted me to try taking Metformin, which is usually used to treat type II diabetes, but I'm taking it for insulin resistance. A year or so later, she started me on Synthroid because my thyroid blood test was on the low side of normal. (I was taken off Synthroid Jan 2015). I joined a gym in January 2015 and started going to cardio kickboxing twice a week. I try to go one or two other days during the week to do some strength training, and practice some kickboxing if the room isn't being used. It's fun!
