NOTE: I've lost 93lbs with SparkPeople and have lost ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN POUNDS total! As of August 28, 2014 I am working on maintaining that loss.
My name is Andrea, I'm 35, married, so far childless and looking to lose some extra pounds! I don't want to be a stick, but I want to be healthy, and I don't want to be plus-sized anymore. I'm aiming for an 8 as an ultimate goal, since I've never been thin enough to wear a 8, and it's a single digit, woot woot! (I'm currently in a 10, and if the 8 I wear is a pair of stretchy pants I'm totally cool with not going below a 10.) ETA June 2014 - I currently own a SIZE 8 pair of capris!! ETA November 2014 - I also own a size 6 in dress pants! ETA Sept 2015 I have several pairs of size 6 things!
I have a wonderful husband and a 5 year old Boston Terrier named Bingley who is like my child. (No I don't walk him in a stroller or anything, but I love him just as much as I would my own child.)

I'm tracking my nutrition and exercise via SparkPeople, and using my FitBit to try to keep an average of 8000+ steps a day, plus intermittent strength training. I swing, baby! (Kettlebells, that is.)
I was born and raised in South Jersey, just outside of Philly. I've been up and down the East Coast and abroad and I still love my state. Judge not a state by it's Turnpike. =)
I believe in equality for all people: men, women, whites, blacks, asians, hispanics, gays, straights, transexuals, transgenders, etc. As long as you don't try to take MY rights away or try to cram your beliefs down my throat, we're cool. =)

I finished reading The Swing by Tracy Reifkind. Her book has a series of Kettle Bell workouts that I'm going through. The first workout was 10 sets of 10 in ten minutes.
The second set is 5 sets of ten then a set of 11, 12, 13, 14, and 6 sets of 15. Its all supposed to be done in 15 minutes. Right now I'm having a hard time getting it done in the time frame. LOL But I figure it will get easier.
Her program is all timed to train someone to be able to exercise more and rest less, all by using swings with two or one hand plus snatches eventually. I really enjoy its simplicity. I don't feel as enthusiastic about the longer drawn out types of lifting programs.
I'll probably continue blogging about my workouts as I progress. I follow a two day per week program right now. Her book said I could do three days a week if I wanted but two seems to be working out pretty well.

I REALLY like those two! I hate that high waisted suits are usually super conservative on the butt; I like to show off my hard work! Plus I've found the suits that are cut low on the butt cut into my legs and butt more and look frumpy (on me). So I may have to look into those suits. Thanks!

I think my fitness minutes are connected to my calorie range. I think I prefer them not to be. I am curious what you find as well. ciao
