NOTE: I've lost 93lbs with SparkPeople and have lost ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN POUNDS total! As of August 28, 2014 I am working on maintaining that loss.

My name is Andrea, I'm 33, married, so far childless and looking to lose some extra pounds! I don't want to be a stick, but I want to be healthy, and I don't want to be plus-sized anymore. I'm aiming for an 8 as an ultimate goal, since I've never been thin enough to wear a 8, and it's a single digit, woot woot! (I'm currently in a 10, and if the 8 I wear is a pair of stretchy pants I'm totally cool with not going below a 10.) ETA June 2014 - I currently own a SIZE 8 pair of capris!!

I have a wonderful husband and a 3 year old Boston Terrier named Bingley who is like my child. (No I don't walk him in a stroller or anything, but I love him just as much as I would my own child.)

I have not been to a comicon but I would like to go some day just to say I have, but I do hear they are very "commercial".

If you get a chance you might want to check out DragonCon in Atlanta. It's by fans for fans. It's HUGE but also like walking into a party with 30,000 of your best friends. Like gay pride for nerds. :)

I have been a couple times and think it is the most awesome thing ever. They have tracks on pretty much any popculture thing you could be into. here is a tiny sample: Anime, costuming, horror, scifi/fantasy, gaming both board and video, independent film, whole tracks dedicated to Joss Weadon, Star Trek, Harry Potter. There are some many tracks I would have to take up your whole page to list them all.

Even though it is a fan run convention they still get the big name stars. I have seen Shattner, Nimoy, the cast of Firefly, Farscape, Battlestar G, etc.

At night there are parties (official and unofficial), there is Rave which is crazy fun, bands, costume contests and a drumming circle that lasts all night.

And of course, tons of cosplay. Everything under the sun. Just go check out some videos on YouTube. Beatdown Boogie has a lot of very high quality videos.

If you ever want to try another con, I can not recommend DragonCon highly enough.

My dh will usually walk with me without too much complaint. Some days he puts his foot down and refuses, but usually he will. I don't ask often, though. But now that he has issued me this challenge, we'll have to hit the park together more often, which makes me super happy!

I really hope losing some weight helps with my period. If I'm not on birth control, I don't have periods at all. Before I went on it last year I hadn't had a period in 3 years. I have PCOS and it messes me all up. It's hard to be a girl!

Hope you're having a great Thursday!

Have you ever been to Nerdtactular? I have thought about it a couple times but I only have so much time and money and if I have to pick I would rather go to DragonCon. :)

I just saw your reply to my comment on your blog, so here's comment number two from me!:

I don't watch as much anime as I used to. And that series I actually was reading the manga of before it was a show. I've only seen a few episodes of the show, and I'm waaaay behind on the books. I need to re-read what I have and then catch up, it's a good series. So is the one it intertwines with: Tsubasa Chronicles. That's another one I've read more of than I've seen and am also super behind on.

I have said the exact same thing about Portuguese when describing it to other people! Good luck learning it! I'd really like to learn a couple new languages, although it's something I'm tradionally horrible at. I think language learning runs on the same broken circuit that math does in my brain!

OBX is great! It's very chill and laid back, not overly commercial. The further south in the islands you go, the more relaxed it is. We never go up towards Carolla, we prefer South Nag's Head, Kitty Hawk, etc. I hope you get down there sometime, it's definitely worth the trip!
