Retired from full time work.

Did not have a weight problem until middle age. A very stressful job, long hours, lack of exercise and eating late in the evening caused me to gain unwanted pounds. This has affected my health and I need to loose about 70 pounds.

Since joining SP I am eating more balanced meals (carbs, fats and protein) including more vegetables and fruits. I log my nutrition and exercise regularly. I joined Meetup.com and now walk regularly (20 plus km per week). I have made positive changes but now need to concentrate on sticking to a specific calorie intake per day.

Dec 14/11 - I found this penned on a note pad while I was 'decluttering' - same message - different words!

1. Consume 'healthy' foods - no 'empty' calorie foods or snacking

2. Be aware of portion size

3. Exercise/move DAILY

I am a naturalist and enjoy walks in natural areas observing birds, flowers and plants and anything having to do with nature. I volunteer for several nature related community groups: a naturalist club and a local conservation area.
