Aiming for a Healthy & Fit Pregnancy
Update: 1/05 I have been on my Spark journey for half a year now, and have lost almost 25 lbs and 2 pants sizes. I have met amazing people, joined awesome teams, and been given opportunities to spread the spark by the Spark Team themselves! The last half a year has been wonderful! This Christmas, my husband and I got a little surprise in the form of a positive pregnancy test!!! So, my journey will not end, but now transform into something else. Where before I was trying to be healthy and lose weight, now I am trying to be more fit and healthy so that I can have a healthy pregnancy--and hopefully an easier delivery than I did with my darling son (when I was overweight and out of shape!). I'll certainly be coming back to my original mission of looking killer in the Magic Little Black Dress once the baby arrives in August and will then forge ahead to my previous goals. But for now... I am hoping for a healthy weight gain (around 20 lbs like I had with Silas), and a healthy, fit pregnancy and delivery!!! 7/09 So, a little about me. I have been a yo-yo for the last 10 or 15 yrs with my weight. I was never "skinny" or even "thin", but I played sports in high school and it kept me from gaining too much weight. Despite the fact I probably weighed no more than 130-135 lbs for most of high school, I had people in my life (and of course all the skinny b*tches in school who didn't need to say anything they were so tiny) constantly telling me I needed to lose weight. The result of this, was my becoming lazy, hating exercise and eating poorly and waaay too much! Naturally, in college, I gained like, "the freshman 25". I managed to lose it each summer by roller blading. When I moved to NYC after graduation, well, it was just a downward spiral of order out food, no exercise and too much drinking. So, here I am, a married 32 yr old woman with a yr old son. I am about to go the next size up in clothes if I don't start changing things in my life. I am making a decent (although not great) effort, but I do lead a busy life and don't have the $$ (or frankly the time) for a gym! I knew I really needed to make a committment of some sort when I tried on my "Magic" Little Black Dress, (which over the last 9 years, and 20-25 lbs, has always somehow fit no matter what weight I was at) and looked in the mirror and thought, "you have lost your magic!" So, I want to reclaim that dress' magic and fit into it again...and look amazing in it! I stumbled across this site and already have a couple of buddies to help keep me motivated and more importantly, accountable, to my new determination to recapture the magic of "the little black dress"!

Personal Information:
I am a proud full-time working mom in Queens, by way of Philly. I love outdoors activities; hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, camping--but living in the Urban Jungle doesn't afford many opportunities for any of that... so I get it in where and when I can! I am a Jersey Girl with a Vermonters heart. My folks have a place in VT and we spent most of our winters, and quite a bit of every other season, there on weekends growing up. Both my sister and I got married there near our house--it is my sanctuary and my "happy place."
