Hasn't been a lot posted from you on the friend feed! Just thinking of you...hope your finding peace and balance this summer. There's something to be said for stepping away for a bit to find your groove. best of luck in your endeavors... your Sparking friend, Carol
Good Morning, Just thought I'd stop by and let you know I haven't forgotten you while on my Spark break. I'm doing pretty good, I think stress was my problem because I've lost almost 3 pounds since starting my break. Between Rod's back surgery in December, hand surgery in May and another one scheduled for August I've had to take up quite a bit of the slack. Moving in January didn't help the stress levels much either. I've pretty much been doing everything the same as I was before I started my "break" but just not spending so much time on the computer tracking everything, doing team posts, challenges, etc. After doing all of it for so long I pretty much know what my calorie count will be at the end of the day anyway and I still wear my fitness tracker to keep track of my activity level. I go back to the doctor for my follow-up on Wednesday, I was really hoping to have lost some weight since my last visit so I'm trying not to stress about that now.
The biggest thing going on here in Southern Oregon is the current heat wave. We received an alert from the National Weather Service several days ago warning us. The temperatures have been 103 - 105 every day and it doesn't look like it's going to cool down much any time soon. They're predicting 107 on Wednesday. The worst thing is that it stays hot into the evening, it was 89 when we went to bed at 10:00 last night. We've only been using our air conditioner a little in the late afternoon, it started making loud noises the first time we turned it on, Rod took it apart and thinks he fixed the problem but now he's worried about what our electric bill will be so we're turning it on once the temperature in the house reaches 80 and turning it off after about 3 hours. At least we don't have the humidity here that so many of my Spark friends farther east have to deal with.
I haven't been doing much in the way of exercise for the last week either - too hot! We complain when it's cold and also when it's hot, is there anyplace where it's continually spring or fall? Right now I'd be happy with cold, you can always put on more clothes and wrap up in a blanket but there's only so much you can take off

So do something fun, go for a walk enjoy the beauty around you, go bowling, go golfing, do some yoga, just get moving and make it an everyday habit! Have some fun you will be glad you did and will be jumping for joy ! As always Cathe
Hi! Glad you stopped by. Just did a work out this am....first one in two weeks. I did actually say screw it for those two weeks! LOL still not tracking close but trying to get back in some sorta groove. I have indeed been enjoying summer....including the extra adult beverage and barbecue food. Going on vacation in a couple of weeks...so I think i'll try and be better between then and now. Looking a bit like a sausage in my workout wear, or at least feeling like one but you deal lol No worries about checking in....I said that from the beginning. We support each other in our own way....just not daily!!! Sometimes yes! that can start to feel like pressure....And we do not need any more of that! Oh and I hear ya about the school loan thing. I remember a while back when you said that everyday you just take a deep breathe and hope everything still goes well with your girls college. SAME HERE!!!! I swear that if something isn't done about the costs of college the entire middle class and their children students are going to be bankrupted. It's absurd!!!!! My DD is half way thru a degree, a ton in debt and completely rethinking how and where she's going to finish. The new plan is a good one I think, NE tech...moving towards BA in mechanical eng tech vs aero engineering. so new school, new plan, new attitude, more bills! but doing the best she can to keep that BIG HUGE number down as much as possible!!! And remain sane. LIving at home now. HOLDING MY BREATH!!!!! I think of you all the time when I go to the lake. Maybe, just maybe you got into the water for a swim. Water is warmer now....hi heat and humidity! I'm sure you've must have been kayaking! I raise my glass (of Mikes Lemonade LOL) to you that your journey is successful and happy, being spent with family and friends. I think for us anyway we find a better diet and exercise groove in the fall. Best wishes, Carol
Hooray, Hooray! Yippee, skippy! Let the new week begin. Let us have a positive, winning attitude to start our week off on a good note. Remember a good attitude is good, for the body, mind and soul. A good attitude is a step in the right direction towards success. As always Cathe
