I continue to revisit my goals from September and I like them.
My plan for the Winter 5% Challenge:
My 5%=6.9 pounds to lose by end of the challenge
In order to reach that goal, I have to lose about .86 pounds/week, or 3018 calories less /week through diet and exercise.
I will do the elliptical 20 minutes twice weekly
Weekly cycle class (60minutes) or two 30 workouts
Walk 5 miles (100 minutes) minimum per week.

I joined the 2014 Fall 5% Challenge! I am a 'Determined Daisy!'
Here are my goals in a nutshell:
I will exercise daily
I am going to do Coach Nicole's 28 day Boot Camp!
I will take one class at the gym each week
I will workout on the elliptical for 20min/2-3x week
I will eat nourishing meals when I am alone
I will take a break from my desk at least once a day
I will not eat in front of the computer/tv, or at my desk
I will take the time to prepare more of my meals from scratch
I will add weights to my daily workouts
I will not drink wine during this challenge, or limit it to one glass with dinner

Personal Information:
I am 49 years old, in good health. I started struggling with weight when I was in 9th grade. As a young woman, my weight went up and down for years. I finally found my zone when I became a young wife. After two children, my weight always settled at the same place it was before the babies, 133lbs. Over the past 20 years, things have remained very consistent with only the 'winter 7' playing a part. Typically, by the time the roads were clear enough to walk a decent clip, I was out and about, and my winter 7 was history.
Now that I am a 'woman of a certain age', things don't work quite the way they used to. In the last year, I finalized my divorce (after 23 years of marriage), my boys (21 and 19) have left the nest, and I lost my daddy (my hero). I am trying to learn how to take care of myself, now that I don't have my dad and the boys to fuss over.
I adopted a 4 year old golden retriever. Little did I know he rescued me.

Other Information:
I am a knitter, baker, reader, New York Mets fan, Auburn University football fan, and newly converted and hopeless dog lover.
I am here because I want to learn how to take care of myself. I want to be able to lose my winter 7 before summer (lol!) and I want to be the best woman I can be!

"It is important to then make a conscious effort to transform your thoughts. It may be true that you often cannot overcome your food cravings or stick to your diet.

"However, if there are times when you are able to stand strong, then FOCUS ON THOSE MOMENTS AND CELEBRATE THE TRIUMPHS. Maybe you put less sugar in your coffee today and said no to a second slice of pizza.

It's challenge time again and just in time for me! I went a little crazy on holiday cookies, but the time I spent in the kitchen with my family was priceless! No regrets. I hope this new year is a glorious one for you! All the best my friend.
