My Goals:
I wish to finally lose the last 7-9 pounds!
I wish to enjoy one of the Spark People workout each day!
I want to see myself as deserving of being nurtured

My Program:
2014 Fall 5% Challenge

Personal Information:
I am 49 years old, in good health. I started struggling with weight when I was in 9th grade. As a young woman, my weight went up and down for years. I finally found my zone when I became a young wife. After two children, my weight always settled at the same place it was before the babies, 133lbs. Over the past 20 years, things have remained very consistent with only the 'winter 7' playing a part. Typically, by the time the roads were clear enough to walk a decent clip, I was out and about, and my winter 7 was history.
Now that I am a 'woman of a certain age', things don't work quite the way they used to. Things are moving a little slower and fitness is a little harder.
In the last year, I finalized my divorce (after 23 years of marriage), my boys (21 and 19) have left the nest, and I lost my daddy (my hero). I am trying to learn how to take care of myself, now that I don't have my dad and the boys to fuss over.
I adopted a 4 year old golden retriever. Little did I

Other Information:
I am a knitter, baker, reader, New York Mets fan, newly converted dog lover.
I am here because I want to learn how to take care of myself. I want to be able to lose my winter 7 before summer (lol!) and I want to be the best woman I can be!

Thank you, Jeanne! I have resistance bands that my sister gave me, but I never learned how to use them. Have you tried any workouts on SP?

Hi ReginaMary! Just stopped by to tell you that resistance bands are a great way to build muscle tone! I just started using the ribbon kind like they give you at PT but I got mine w/my DVD's and then bought a trio of them from Walmart for about 9 bucks! The workout I do with them kicks my butt in a really good way!

I had to laugh at your ticker! It would be one day in my case, though I have cut back a lot lately.

Thank you for the teapot!

A cup of tea was a perfect end to the day ... especially after too much sugar!

Now I'll think of you whenever I have tea, as well as whenever I'm making a conscious effort to not eat in front of a screen!
