2016 will be my year

I've been over weight all my life. I'm now 35, halfway to 40...yuck. and still overweight. My better half is 37 and were both needing to get healthier. He would like to loose around 80lbs and I myself need to loose approx. 170. Always looking for words of encouragement. Lets do this Spark friends!

My Goals:
Continue cooking at home. Work out daily for min. of 30 mins.

My Program:
Keep calories around 1200 or so. Drink at least 100 oz. of water daily. Do my best to avoid all sugars even substitutes unless it's whole leaf Stevia. Avoid all processed foods at all costs.

Originally from Ohio, but moved to ND for a change of scenery and a better paying job. I've been a CNA for almost 14yrs. Been with my Fiance for almost 12ys.

Thanks for checking in. I've been cutting sugar and grains out of my diet, and I've been having major detox symptoms...both exciting and physically draining. I've gotten off track with exercise due to not feeling well..hoping to get back to it soon.

Yes! We've seen that too...it is a really good one. Not sure I'd do good without chewing for 40 days though...lol.

Going good...just needing to get motivated. That's great that you guys are doing juice fasts.

There's a great book called "The Fast Track Detox Diet" by Ann Louise Gittleman (she wrote "The Fat Flush Plan" too) that walks you through an 11 day detox to boost your metabolism and detox...it's 7 days of prepping for the detox with eating certain foods to protect/prepare your liver followed by 1 day of fasting where you drink this cranberry juice mixture and water throughout the day, and finished with 3 days of eating foods to support the liver again with a couple supplements. I'm just starting to read my copy so that I can do one...but one of the things that she talks about is the before and after steps are super important so that you won't end up gaining more weight after your fast or having super horrible detox symptoms.
