March Forth!

I'm a wife and mother of two great children, 25 and 21. My one child is a special needs child. I have been married for 25 years to a loving faithful husband. I am thankful for all the support and encouragement on Sparks to stick with it, as I have been down this road before. I have lost and gained through the years. I want to come to what is a normal weight for me and stay there to keep healthy. I have a blood pressure problem and know if I get the weight off it will help.

I have made strides on my journey here since I have started. I still have work to do and by His grace I will keep on. God has been renewing my dreams and desires that He placed in my heart years ago. I am believing that I will see the fulfillment one step at a time.

'Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds' feet, and makes me walk on my high places.' Habakkuk 3:18 & 19

MAKE GOOD HEALTHY CHOICES!
All things are legitimate-permissable, and we are free to do anything we please; but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable and wholesome). Amplified Bible I Cor. 10:23

So I can eat what I want, but is it good for me? Not all things are good for me to have, so I chose to delight in making beneficial choices for my body's health.

New goals for 2014!
1.Do my cardio, tredmill 3 times a week,(will increase later) and my strengthening exercises for my back.
2. Focus on eating healthy and making wise choices.
3. Weekends are a weak area, focus on staying on course. "All things are allowable, but not all things benefit, or are good for me to do" I Cor. 10:23 (paraphrased)

My long term goal is to get my bloodpressure and cholesterol under control and maintain a healthy weight.

My Program:
I have cut out refined sugar & I am eating fruit, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains, and eat small frequent meals about every 2 to 3 hours. I'm logging in my eating and being honest with myself and God about portions.
I have an active job, and I walk on the tredmill or outside when the weather is nice, which I enjoy better.

Personal Information:
I'm from Pennsylvania.

Other Information:
I love Jesus. He is my strength and my life.
'For by You I can run upon a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall. Ps. 18:29'

#3 is STRAWBERRIES!
They contain 4g of carbs in a 50-gram portion. One-half cup of sliced strawberries contains 6.5g of carbs.
Strawberries are loaded with phytonutrients, which makes them heart-protective, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory fruits. They contain ellagic acid, which may inhibit tumor growth. The anthocyanins found in strawberries block the pain and inflammation-causing compounds, COX-1 and COX-2. dLife Information

Have a healthy weekend!

It's not always easy to compare apples to oranges when it comes to carbs. Fruits and vegetables come in all shapes and sizes, and while it might seem like one is a lower-carb choice than another, it may just seem that way because of size and weight differences. We leveled the playing field for you here, so you can compare apples to apples ... so to speak!
Note: To help you visualize a 50-gram portion, here are some examples: 10 grapes, 1/3 of a medium sized peach, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 35 blueberries, or 2 extra-long spears of asparagus.

#1 is ARUGULA!
It contains 2g of carbs in a 50-gram portion. One cup of arugula contains 1g of carbs.
Arugula is rich in phytonutrients, which may reduce the risk of several kinds of cancers, including breast, stomach, and colon.
Note: To help you visualize a 50-gram portion, here are some examples: 10 grapes, 1/3 of a medium sized peach, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 35 blueberries, or 2 extra-long spears of asparagus. dLife Information
