(When I first joined Spark)
Hey everyone!. My name is Amanda, I'm married, I'm 23 and I live in British Columbia Canada. I have always struggled with my weight hovering between 180-210 for most of my high school days till about a year ago, when I hit 230. I was devastated!! I immediately joined Spark People and tried it out, but wasn't able to commit myself to it. Motivation is crucial for me, and I just didn't get it. I have always been pretty active, heavy labor jobs, dancing, gardening and such, but it just wasn't enough. So now I am back at it full force, and am not going to back down!
UPDATE Sept 2012: Got down to 199 from 230 in 4 1/2 months was so incredibly proud of myself. Maintained for another 5 months getting down to 190. Fell off the wagon and since June I have GAINED back to 215!!!! Very disappointing, this summer was not very nice to me! Been drinking too much beer and eating too much ice cream.
Back on it full speed ahead! Keep positive!
UPDATE June 2013- So, back again, didn't stick with the program and ended up back at nearly my starting weight. Coming up to my 3 year anniversary being here on Spark, and I'm back at it again! Found the BLC Challenge, and hoping that is what will motivate me to get back on track. Trying a few new things this time around, got a kettle bell, yoga mat, and a hula hoop. Going to drop down back to 190 at least, would like to reach 170.
UPDATE January 2014 -
*Exercise at least 5 days a week
*Hula hoop for a min 15 mins a day
*No more wasted calories on liquids!
*Really cut back on alcohol consumption. Max 1 day a week.
*No more pastries and ice cream at work.
June 1st 2013- 226 lbs
*minimum 30-60 minutes cardio 5x/wk
*minimum 15-30 minutes hula hooping 5x/wk
*minimum 20 minutes strength train 3x/wk
*lift weights while watching tv
*10000 steps a day minimum
*run up staircase 10 extra times a day
