I did this because my body deserved better!

I started SP Jan 2010, as my last resort to weight loss. In 11 months I lost 55 pounds in all bringing me from a weight of 189 to 134. I am a newly wed as of October 2011. My husband and I live in Maine, and love it here....but we know it's not home forever. Since the wedding I gained about 8 pounds back, and I'm working on getting back down to my weight of 134-136. Then again, I am comfortable with my weight...but prefer just more toning for the summer season and our honeymoon.

About my journey: Well I've always been a little overweight. Since I can remember. I always cooked easy foods due to being a busy college student who also worked (yes that was my excuse for the longest time). My favorite meal was hamburger helper (now the sight of it makes me sick). I tried dieting and skipping the exercise many times. I've always known an in depth amount of nurtirional information, but never applied it to myself. I also figured since so many health conditions (diabetes, heart disease, respiratory problems, cancers, etc) run in my family history I had to accept these would be issues I would have to face in adulthood. WRONG! I knew I could decrease the odds. Sure these health complications are partly genetics, but a healthy lifestyle can decrease my odds or even the severity of these conditions.

On January 12, 2010 I woke up from my unhealthy lifestyle coma and found SP. The best thing I had ever found. It allowed me to track calories and workouts to make me accountable for my actions. Slowly I started seeing the number on the scale go down, and my body began to change. I figured beginners luck (I had never been able to lose 10lbs and keep it off for long). Well here I am over 50 pounds down and still maintaining. I'm not stopping now for anyone.

Through my results, several friends and family members have congrautlated me. I've even had people not recognize me.

So if anyone is having doubts that they "can't" gain enough willpower to leave their unhealthy habbits....let me tell you it's possible. I love the new me, and the confidence that came with it. I'm not going back to the 189lb me that barely fit into her clothes, hated working out, and had low self-esteem. If I changed, so can you!

I dare you to join the rest of us....eat healthy, play healthy....BE HEALTHY!

**Updates** On May 27, 2013 DH and I found out we are pregnant with our first child.

On July 12, 2013 I had my first ultrasound and found out we are expecting twins. Due date is set for February 8, 2014.

My Goals:
Well I kicked butt at getting healthy, and exceeding my goal weight! Now to maintain this healthy lifestyle for a healthy pregnancy:

1. Eat a healthy well balanced diet (when I can overcome food aversions to meat and some vegetables).

2. Take my daily prenatal vitamin, and increased folic acid.

3. Reduce amount of unnecessary weight gain during pregnancy.

My Program:
Eating a healthy diet and working out frequently by walking and doing strength training. I'm looking into a DVD for safe exercises depending on month of pregnancy.

Personal Information:
I am a dental hygienist living in the great state of Maine with my husband. We live busy lives, but everyone can make healthy choices on any budget or schedule!

Other Information:
Once the babies are born and I get the ok to workout at full intensity I plan to restart my SP journey to Stage I, and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 135-140 and my size 6 jeans. Fingers crossed.

Still doing well and baby is too. I'm exercising every day. Yesterday we took a Yoga for Labor class which was nice and different. I'm 32 weeks on Wednesday! Glad to hear from you. Hope things are great with you too!
