My name is Amanda, and I started my journey to healthy living in May 2012. I weighed 219 and needed desperately to make a change. I was diagonosed with hypothyroidism and put on armour which has helped me so much. I also found Spark in June 2012 and started learning so much about nutrition and fitness. I am now happier than I have ever been. I am working out 6 days a week and eating really well. Yes, I indulge and slip up a lot but most of the time I stick to my plan and I am seeing results! I have energy and peace of mind and am able to deal with life's stress in a positive healthy way.

Update August 7, 2012: I am now down to 188 pounds but more importantly, I am truly changing my life each and everyday. I am healthier, leaner, and happier than ever before! I can't wait to wake up everyday and keep reaching higher as Jen says from JensFitJourney!

UPDATE Nov. 9, 2012: I'm down to 172! Woo Hoo! And still working hard to stick to my nutrition plan each day and get that exercise in. It's been hard keeping my motivation up since fall has hit but I am sticking with it and trying my best to keep moving toward my goal. It doesn't matter how slowly you go, just as long as you do not stop!

UPDATE 4/16/2015 I now weigh 167 and am still working on losing. My body really likes this weight but it is still in the overweight category for my height so I would like to lose more. I am currently doing Insanity along with lifting and trying to stick to IIFYM.

"It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. You will need to make healthy decisions. It requires sacrifice. You will need to push your body to its max. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, IT'S WORTH IT. "

"Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use." Earl Nightingale

Stopping by to say Hello to another resident of Lubbock. I'd like to try and get the team page a bit more active, as well as arrange a meet up with other locals. Any interest?

Yeah, i've always done really well in languages. As a part of our curriculum in Canada we have to take french (as its our official second language) starting grade 4-10 then after you choose to continue or some people take french immersion which starts in kindergarden & you take EVERYTHING in french kindergarden through highschool. I took it from grade 4 right through highschool & worked for a french based company after my second diploma so I used it quite a bit in everyday. Then i stopped & lost the majority of my conversation fluency. I can still read and listen to get the jist but won't take long to get back to it as my boyfriend is bilingual (he's french Canadian) & I have the basics down so I won't be starting from scratch grammatically which is the hard part. Instead of taking classes for now I am using a FREE app on the iPad called Duillingo which is amazing & you can learn any language easily. We'll see how that goes before I spend time/money & then I can always speak it at home with Josh.

the only spanish I know is how to order drinks, say thank you & good evening/day from going to the Carribean on vacation. functional spanish?hahah
