Alex/Amaranth in it for the Long Haul!

Hi, I'm Alexandra, also called Amaranth online, and I've been on this website since June 2008. Unfortunately the first time didn't quite work, but now I'm trying again. I'm working on getting my eating under control with my therapist and have been doing an adapted 'medium carb' type of diet.

I live in Salem, Oregon and my hobbies are reading books, re-enacting (SCA) and playing music. I also write songs and do a lot of other creative stuff.

I work from home and deal with some mental health issues like PTSD and a Dissociation Disorder and on the physical front I deal with Fibromyalgia. Sometimes that makes exercising really difficult but I live in an apartment complex with a hot tub and that makes a huge difference! I also have an electric bicycle I use and I can bicycle without the motor and when I can't manage anymore I can put the motor on and get home. It's been a huge help, especially because I use it to go to and from work, so I get my exercise in that way.

I see that you joined the Living Binge Free team awhile back. A very belated welcome! We concentrate more on learning to eat sanely in all situations with all foods rather than directly on weight loss. Over time, we can learn to be happy with and even prefer lot less manufactured food and less food in general. I've put in over 4 years and lost about 40 lbs., about 21% of my former weight.
