I saw this quote on my SparkFriend Cat's page and loved it so much I'm borrowing it: "Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God." Aren't those great words to live by?

Here are some more of my favorite quotes:

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. -- Aristotle

**********************
On October 29, 1941, U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill visited Harrow School to to hear the traditional songs he had sung there as a youth, as well as to speak to the students. When he was invited to give a speech, Churchill stood before the students and said,

"Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give up. Never give up. Never give up. Never give up."

"Its hard to beat someone who never gives up." Babe Ruth

To be successful in your life and business, here is what Winston Churchill told us:

"The pessimist sees the problems in every opportunity. Whereas the optimist sees the opportunity in every problem"

"Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing." Denis Waitley

"Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense"
****************************
Thomas Edison said this when questioned about his failure: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
****************************
"People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be."
Abraham Lincoln

I cannot tell a lie - I shamelessly stole this site and these quotes from another Sparker, KrzyKat3. I even left in some of HER quotes that really resonated with me because I don't want to forget them!! Feel free to borrow them yourself, but please give her credit if you do! (I DID tell her I was borrowing them!):

A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something. - Frank Capra

There are so many things that we wish we had done yesterday, so few that we feel like doing today. ~Mignon McLaughlin

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." Frederick Keonig

Friendship with one's self is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world. -Eleanor Roosevelt

Our greatest asset is patience; our greatest weakness is throwing in the towel. Banish discouragement and feelings of impossibility by working hard, doing more, and not giving in! A diamond was only made beautiful after millions of years as a lump of coal. From Donna aka Walkersss

Some People weave burlap into the fabric of our lives and some weave gold thread. Both contribute to make the whole picture beautiful and unique.... Unknown

my motto is anything lost is not a gain, anything maintained is not a gain. I can live with no gain! ---- me (KrzyKat3), 01/31/10

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.
 Albert Schweitzer

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas (copied from another sparker)

"If I start, I finish" --- me-(KrzyKat3) motto for 2010

"if we did all the things we are capable of doing we would truly astound ourselves." - Thomas Edison

"Time is a dressmaker specializing in alterations." -Faith Baldwin (From Marilyn - I personally think God could be substituted for Time in that one. I think He often works with our mistakes to keep our lives on His tracks.)

"Don't wait for a light to appear at the end of the tunnel, stride down there .... and light the bloody thing yourself." - Sara Henderson, Australian Outback Station Manager and Writer

Try.
Try again.
Try harder.
Try tomorrow.
Try thinking about what has worked in the past.
Try and ask someone who has done it.
Try and figure out what is not working.
Try it a different way.
Try it once more.
Don't stop trying!

My top goal is to get fit and healthy! In 2016 I want to increase my strength training and work on getting my house organized. I've let that slip in the past couple of years - time to add some balance back to my life!

My Program:
I am eating according to 'The Plan' guidelines. I've FINALLY been able to ween myself off Blood Pressure meds! I'm still in the process of 'testing' foods to see which agree with my body but I'm loving the knowledge I've gained from 'The Plan'.

I am originally from central Texas but have been living in Georgia most of the last 30+ years. We recently moved from Suwanee, GA to LaGrange, Ga when DH retired.

Marilyn passed away early this morning December 15, 2016. I am blessed to have been on her Challenge Teams for several years. What an encourager, so full of hope, laughter, and lover of life and Jesus.

    From her daughter Brandy:
It is with a mix of sadness and joy that I'm writing to tell you Mom went to be with her Lord in the early hours of the morning today. Sadness for the loss of an amazing women in our lives, and joy because she is with Jesus, and free from the pain she was in the last weeks of her life.
Words can't tell y'all how much we appreciate your thoughts, love, and prayers over the past weeks. This has been the hardest thing I've ever been through, and I've been through some hard stuff! With your support and prayers, and most especially with God's presence and strength, we've come through the hardest part. We've still got a rough road ahead as we learn to live without the light of her love, and her ever joyful and positive personality, but with your continued prayers and God's grace, I think we'll do alright.
In accordance with that joyful personality, it was Mom's wish to not have a funeral, but a party instead. Since she was such a popular lady, she'll be having two parties, one in LaGrange, Ga and one in Temple, Tx. The Georgia party will most likely be held on January 7th, and the Texas one later in the month of January. I'll be posting more information about both parties in the days ahead. These parties will be a joyful celebration and memorial of her amazing life.

I feel that it's important for me to remind everyone that she didn't want any flowers. Her wishes were for you to donate to The American Cancer Society, a charity of your choice, or your local church (above and beyond your tithe). I also want to remind everyone to really be present during the upcoming holidays. Love your family, friends, and neighbors, laugh a lot, do good to those in need, let go of any anger or strife, and remember Jesus is the reason for the season! Follow His example and Mom's, spread the love!
