The road to the new me
Ok so I have tripped and fell metaphorically speaking. But now it is time to get back on that horse again. So as of 2/1/10 I am getting back on the program. I have taken a new turn and I am finally on the right road. I have decided I am no longer going to diet. I began my new life on Monday 9/27/09. I started EA Active 30 day challenge and have made my goals and I am going to make them. I have started to set up my support system. I can't wait to see where this route takes ...
I can't wait to see where this route takes me. I started this journey when it finally hit me that my body was crying out against the weight. I was feeling short of breath, my knees were hurting me, and I was beginning to have trouble on my job with all the bending. I started thinking about the fact I want another baby but couldn't think of being pregnant at this state. I was also noticing things in my husband that was beginning to worry me as he was 420lbs. My mother died at 61 from end stage renal failure caused by diabetes. I was only 19 when she passed and took care of her since I was 14. I have multiple times started diets trying to prevent this, but don't think I was ready. Well I am ready now. I don't want my son or future kids going through what I did. So, I have hit rock bottom and have started my new life. Many of the things I have had happen to me contributed to my weight issues and emotional eating. Which I am now starting to face and concur.

My Goals:
I am going to workout 5 days out of 7 using Wii Fit, EA active, My fitness coach for 30 days. I am going to complete stage 1 of spark people diet to stage 2. I am going to do something active everyday. We are going to become a more active family doing things together like bike riding, walking, hiking, skating, laser tag, etc.
My Program:
I have decided to start by using what I have. My wii and the various fitness games and get my butt moving. I have set a goal of 5x a week- 3x a week cardio, 2x a week strength\yoga. The reward is if I can do it for 1 month I can get a new wii fitness game. I have also started to take on the nutrition part again. I am actually recording what I eat and taking a look. I have also started to write in a journal about my weight issues. Don't quite get to it everyday but close.
Personal Information:
I live in Hudson, MA. I live with my wonderful husband and my 6 year old son. I am a visiting nurse. I am also teaching Sunday School at my UU church this year. Where does the time go? Reasons I want to lose weight: 1. I want to be healthy. I don't want to die from an obesity related illness like my mother did. Leaving my children without a mother. 2. I don't want to have to worry that I am not going to fit in a stall, chair, furniture and always scared that I am going to break something. 3. I want to be more then a pretty face. 4. I want to buy regular clothes for the first time since I was 14. I am tired of spending extra money on plus size clothes that never really look good. 5. I want to be active with my son and have energy, instead of always being tired. 6. I want to be active as a family and do active things together. 7. I want another baby and be healthy for my children.
Other Information:
I am a visiting nurse, who needs to find a way to balance work, family, personal time. Need to find a way to nurture my mind, body, and spirit. I need to find time for it all. One way right now is to make exercising a priority.
