Fries don't come with this Deadly Shake

I'm a 33 year old mom to a toddler, who just moved to Central Illinois. I love running and yoga, although I struggle with making time for it while taking care of the kiddo.

I recently joined a roller derby league and wish I had done it sooner! Skating is a blast! Now I just need to learn to beat up people.

A few years ago I had the amazing experience of running a half marathon to raise money for the Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America. My husband has Colitis so it was a pleasure and an honor to be part of the search for new medicines and maybe even a cure that would help all the IBD sufferers out there. We discovered we really love running that distance. And I also discovered that running 15 miles a week is one of the few ways to whip my body into shape. Diets are ok, but torturous exercise is much more effective.

Hey there, glad I reminded you of Big Bang Theory. I have the first season on DVD. Quite a good show! Are you a runner too? :)

I always thought running with the stroller helped build strength and I felt like I ran faster without it =)

I don't run with the triple anymore. And when I did, it was mostly on flat stretches. It was a beast to push uphill and then scary to run with it downhill- even though it had hand breaks on it.

I've run a couple already (DRC Independence 5k and Breakfast Bash) and have one tomorrow (Jailbreak). I'm hoping to run a couple in October (DRC The Loop and The Pumpkin Run at Joe Pool). I'd like to run the Turkey Trot again, but that all depends on where we spend Thanksgiving.

I mostly run in the morning before my DH leaves for work. If I don't get it in before he leaves, I try to hit the gym (with childcare ;)). But, it's a bit easier for me because I'm home with the kids. With the cooler weather now, I can start running when he gets home from work =)

I would suggest one of the 5k plans here on Sparkpeople. It'll force you to go slower building up the miles/ time again. And you'll be amazed at how quickly you bounce back to where you were.
