Adjusting to change and staying healthy in the process!

After experiencing many big changes in my life last year - selling our home in PA, retiring from teaching 30 years, living in our RV for five months, and then moving to central Florida, away from many family members and friends, I finally made great adjustments and got back to a happy, active, healthy lifestyle! My Goals:
I would like to lose a total of 50 pounds and then maintain that weight by staying consistent in eating healthy and exercising regularly.

Consistency, balance, and moderation through improved daily habits of my mind, body, and spirit





My Program:
Summer 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:

*continuing 10,000 step daily streak
*upping intensity of daily walks to include jogging intervals at least 3 days a week
*do other cardio throughout week to change it up and make it fun - stationary bike, step, dance, various fitness DVDs
*do at least 3 days of strength training a week
*include yoga/stretching into my fitness routine (some stretching every day/yoga routine at least twice a week)

Summer 5% Challenge Diet Commitment

*Eat mindfully and use moderation with portion-size.
*Avoid processed carbs/sugar.
*Eat 5+ veggies a day.





Personal Information:
I'm Amy, originally from southeastern PA, but after selling our home of 23 years, we moved to central Florida and hope to RV in the summer months. I am adjusting to an early retirement after teaching for 30 years. I've been married to my husband, Dave for almost 26 years, and we have a 25 yo son named Sean and two adorable and feisty Cairn terriers, Max and Sophie.

Other Information:
I enjoy a variety of different activities from reading and computer-time to hiking and traveling. I am a never-ending proponent of personal development.

Just stopping by to say hi and emoticon you. I've been crazy busy lately between trying to fit in exercise, time for Bob, making crafts for my daughter for a craft fair which is a fundraiser for my grandson's gymnastics team, but it is all good and fun stuff so I am doing good. emoticon emoticon
