I am tired of breaking promises that I make to myself. Over 5 years ago I lost 50 pounds. I went from 212.5 (219 was my highest)- to my lowest of 156.5 (but averaged 162). I believe I am somewhere around 185 right now. Ouch, just realizing that I have gained back 25-30 pounds. I knew that, I guess I just didn't want to admit it. I could sit here and berate myself for falling back into old habits or I could give myself a round of applause for the things I have kept doing well. I have a tendency to berate. But that is part of my new goals - to appreciate me - AS IS!!! So, what is it I want to appreciate about myself?

* I have a positive outlook about the changes I will be making.
* I have continued to be active
* I still drink water and avoid soda.
* I keep restarting - which means I never give up.

I am in this for the long haul and this time I am making promises that I will keep. If I keep them to others, than why not me.

Fitness Achievements
** Several 5k's
** 4 Triathlons
** metric century bike ride
** 4 milers, 5 milers, obstacle courses.


My Program:
** Whole food and less food.
** Water 10-12 cups daily
** 10 servings of fruits and veggies daily
** Stop eating 2 hours before bed time (roughly 9p).
** Exercise (this is so second nature for me - I love different activities and the gym, but ST 2x/week I promise to include ST in my exercise regime!!)
** Journal food daily
** Journal emotional connection to food
**eat slowly
** one serving - wait 15 minutes, if still hungry then go for a little more.
**core work - I need to strengthen the core for my back if for nothing else.

Everything I wrote on here I updated January 2014 - January 2015 still hold true and July 2016 (sheesh)



Personal Information:
I am 50 yo wife and mother. My husband John and I have been married for 29 years. He is my rock and my biggest fan. We have 2 boys (28 and 24). I am focusing on improving ME so that I can be a better wife, mother, sister and friend.


Other Information:
I am a Sign Language Inerpreter and love my job and the people I work with. I love to read. I love being active with my husband - I wish we did more of it. I love dragonflies! Did you know that dragonflies will let you pet them? It's an amazing experience. It's a feeling of connecting with nature.

    You know, I didn't think you looked like a donut-eating kind of a gal! So it's sandwiches and coffee, eh?

    I've never been in a Dunkin Donut shop, so I don't know what you have to face - I guess it's all presented in a pick-me-up-easy-to-go kind of way.............

    The nearest I have to it is probably Costa - I get drawn in about twice a month, because it's expensive, and the way they present stuff is SO tempting - it all looks so very desirable. Just yesterday, I celebrated Friday and the beginning of a week's vacation from work, by going in and getting myself a 'Green Tea, Lime & Mint Cooler' which was basically like a snow-cone rather than a drink! If I had more money available, I could very easily find myself heading in there for a coffee (and something to eat) more often.
