I'm 46 years old. My weight has yo-yo'd since I was a teenager. I'm at my heaviest ever right now and need to get my weight down and keep it down.

I work full time as an office manager, which really means I sit at a computer eight hours a day, five days a week.

I have been married for more than 25 years. I have two sons and a granddaughter.

I have spent my whole life in northern NY - I love life here and wouldn't trade it for anywhere else.

My Goals:
Long term, my goal is to lose about 80 pounds. It will most likely end up 85- Which would put me at a 'healthy' BMI - but I'll see when I get there.

I love the idea of a reward for meeting goals along the way, but I tend to pretty much buy myself what I want when I want it, and I'm not a person who wants much.

But I'm going to give this a try. Since I've already lost more than 25 pounds (which includes losing more than 10% of my pre SP weight - I'll have to start with higher goals)

Lose 42.5 pounds (Weigh 172.5 - Half way to goal weight): $50 to spend at Herrschners.com

Lose 57 pounds (weigh 158 - this will bring my BMI from obese to simply overweight): A day (or overnight) trip antique shopping

Lose 70 pounds (weigh 145 - arbitrary number) - 5 pair of quirky socks - oh, how I love my socks!

Lose 85 pounds (weigh 130) Goal!!! Buy or knit a poncho - I don't know why I want a poncho, but I refuse to have one until I'm thinner.

My Program:
Moving more
Tracking what I eat
Choosing healthier foods

Personal Information:
I'm from Northern NY (Lewis County). I've been married for 27 years, have two sons, and a granddaughter.

I work as an office manager at LandVest, Inc.

Other Information:
I love to knit, write, and read. I've had several short stories published and hope to have a novel published some day.

I just read this poem & felt it too good not to share on this CHRISTmas Eve! God bless!

{This is another version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' }

'Twas the night before Jesus came
and all through the house
Not a creature was praying,
Not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

(by Reverend Edward M. Gionest, Sr.)

To those who receive Him, He gives the power to become the sons of God, even to those that believe on his name. Repent and declare with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.
