40 something wanting to change health

Hi. I would like to take charge of my health now, well I still am healthy. I need to lose approx 30 pounds. Every since I quit smoking 7 months ago, I have not been able to lose an ounce. I would appreciate any suggestions.

My Goals:
To lose 30 pounds and to tone through exercise.

My Program:
My original goal was to quit smoking which I have done (after 30 years) I chose a quit date, changed my eating habits prior to quitting, conditioned my body for the change & quit. By doing this I did not gain weight, however I am stuck at my existing weight

Personal Information:
I am from Vancouver Island British Columbia.

Other Information:
My favorite me time is reading. It is my escape. Favorite authors Michael Connoly, Jonathan Kellerman, William Lashner, Janet Evanovich, Jefferson Bass, to name a few.

I quit smoking 2 yrs. 6 mo. ago and gained 25 lbs. have only lost 3 lbs.
so depressed! how are you doing now?

Congratulations on quitting smoking. It takes a lot of courage to quit. The only thing I could suggest is being here on spark people, but you've already done that! I quit 6 years ago and I've been trying to get my DH to quit ever since. emoticon
