Energetic & Fit Lady!

2014 Update:

2012 Update:

Thank you for stopping by my page! 2012 started off with a huge change. I found out basically on New Years Day that I am pregnant with my first baby! My husband and I are overjoyed.

2012 will begin with my pregnancy and end with me being a new Mom. As well as the beginning of my pre-pregnancy weight loss plan...which I am not going to think about until the baby is born!

2011 Accomplishments:

- met goal weight
- got Married!!!!
- Ran 10km race in 40 minutes!!!
- was extremely consistant with my eating and exercise plan

Major accomplishments for 2010:

- no more hormone medication!
- lost 42lbs
- created a new personal best in my 10km race
- ran my first half marathon in 1 hour and 56 minutes!!! woo hoo

Here's where I have come from:
I was overweight as a child but discovered my love for fitness (namely Tae Bo and strength training) in high school and lost 40lbs!!

I vowed that I would never allow myself gain weight again. And had maintained my weight loss for nearly 7 years. Well, imagine my surprise when despite not changing a thing with my eating habits and working out 6 days a week I began to gain a lot of weight in only 2 months....30 pounds to be exact. After a year my hormones being out of whack and the main reason for the weight gain, I hadn't lost a pound and was sick of the doctors putting me on different medications.

I decided to go off everything and lose the weight by simply eating healthy and working out. Woudn't you know it? it's worked!!

Tips for Success

1) Carry a water bottle with you everywhere.

2) Tell someone your workout plans. You feel more accountable to actually follow through with them.

3) Make a calender with this workout plan and check off each completed workout. Nothing feels better than being able to place that check mark beside a completed workout.

4) Vent...but don't give up. Weight loss isn't easy..if it was everyone would be thin.

5) Eat your veggies first at every meal. That way you fill up on the good stuff and not the bad stuff.

6) Always, always have gum in your purse. When out at social gatherings pop a piece in your mouth to keep you from eating any junk food.

Goals for 2010

1) Lose 10lbs -COMPLETED!!!!!!!
2) Reach goal weight and finally buy that bikini from Victoria Secret
3) Run 10km race in fall
4) Reach 18, 000 workout minutes (1500mins/month and 375 mins/week)
5) Enjoy life and have fun!
6) Run a half marathon!

Thank you so much for stopping by and showing your support on my blog. I am tracking what I eat but I could be better about it...some days I slack at night with tracking or I don't measure something out completely so there is definitely room for improvement there. I think some of my problem is that I need to not just eat less but I need to change what I eat as I've been working on loving "health" foods like almonds and such that I didn't like before...that is also something I need to work more on. Finally my workouts...this week I did Rockin Body, a few walks, zumba, and I did two days of strength training. Part of me thinks I should focus on cardio for a month or two and then add strength back in but I'm not sure. Thank you again for your support. :)

Thanks for the encouragement! I think turbo fire was just too fast for my weight right now. I think starting turbo jam's schedule will really help my journey and then maybe I can transition to turbo fire. I only bought the starter kit. Our son loves saying NO, WOW, UH OH lol Happy Hump Day.

wow our boys are so close in age! I'm going to go purchase some at walmart and start to practice with him. My mom watches him for us so he's not in daycare but he's around children at church in daycare on most Wednesdays and Sundays. He's saying a lot more words now but refuses to try to say his age and name but I know he's still too young. Thanks for these great tips! You look wonderful by the way and I can read from all your blogs that you're working so hard to stay in shape. I'm just not trying again I had really let myself go. Baby steps is where I'm at. I tried turbo fire because I loved turbo jam but yeah it was way too advanced for me! I need to start slow and easy again as I have a lot of weight to loose. =/

Our son is almost 2 yes. He'll be 2 next January! How old is your son? Our son also is super active! He never stops unless he's sleeping lol. The energy he has is crazy and he keeps us on our toes. He's fun to be around wouldn't change a thing. He's starting to talk a lil more. I know they want him forming two work sentences I think I need to start him on the flash cards like I read in one of your blogs. Is this a special flash card game you got him to help him? If you dont mind sharing. I see my cousin with her daughter who is a few months older than our son and she's so quiet and still. I'm like wow I wouldn't know what to do lol. Thanks for adding me!
