Energetic & Fit Lady!

2014 Update:

2012 Update:

Thank you for stopping by my page! 2012 started off with a huge change. I found out basically on New Years Day that I am pregnant with my first baby! My husband and I are overjoyed.

2012 will begin with my pregnancy and end with me being a new Mom. As well as the beginning of my pre-pregnancy weight loss plan...which I am not going to think about until the baby is born!

2011 Accomplishments:

- met goal weight
- got Married!!!!
- Ran 10km race in 40 minutes!!!
- was extremely consistant with my eating and exercise plan

Major accomplishments for 2010:

- no more hormone medication!
- lost 42lbs
- created a new personal best in my 10km race
- ran my first half marathon in 1 hour and 56 minutes!!! woo hoo

Here's where I have come from:
I was overweight as a child but discovered my love for fitness (namely Tae Bo and strength training) in high school and lost 40lbs!!

I vowed that I would never allow myself gain weight again. And had maintained my weight loss for nearly 7 years. Well, imagine my surprise when despite not changing a thing with my eating habits and working out 6 days a week I began to gain a lot of weight in only 2 months....30 pounds to be exact. After a year my hormones being out of whack and the main reason for the weight gain, I hadn't lost a pound and was sick of the doctors putting me on different medications.

I decided to go off everything and lose the weight by simply eating healthy and working out. Woudn't you know it? it's worked!!

Tips for Success

1) Carry a water bottle with you everywhere.

2) Tell someone your workout plans. You feel more accountable to actually follow through with them.

3) Make a calender with this workout plan and check off each completed workout. Nothing feels better than being able to place that check mark beside a completed workout.

4) Vent...but don't give up. Weight loss isn't easy..if it was everyone would be thin.

5) Eat your veggies first at every meal. That way you fill up on the good stuff and not the bad stuff.

6) Always, always have gum in your purse. When out at social gatherings pop a piece in your mouth to keep you from eating any junk food.

Goals for 2010

1) Lose 10lbs -COMPLETED!!!!!!!
2) Reach goal weight and finally buy that bikini from Victoria Secret
3) Run 10km race in fall
4) Reach 18, 000 workout minutes (1500mins/month and 375 mins/week)
5) Enjoy life and have fun!
6) Run a half marathon!

I forgot I had two doughnuts that night hahaha Had we left earlier in the evening I probably would have done without and been fine. Dern thing was torturing me haha

LOL that's so funny about leaving early--Maddison isn't walking yet so stroller walks are still a nice little workout. She's starting to walk down the sides of things so I wouldn't be surprised if she tries soon.

I definitely hear you about pre-preg working out. I don't know how I'll ever be able to do that again! Although I know it'll get easier, and I can do it--it's a matter of making the time. I just don't want to miss out on anything she does since I'm already working full time. But it's all about that balance I'm still trying to find :)

That's great your daycare is so close!! I take Maddison to an in-home place as well and we absolutely love it.

Thanks! Everything has been going great. I do have a jogging stroller but somehow when we went hiking we messed up the tires because NONE of them hold any air now. That was probably 2 months ago lol. I need to make a priority to get this fixed! I just use a regular stroller now and we go for walks. She loves to go on them which is awesome for me.

I lost all of my baby weight soon after I had my daughter but now 9 months later I'm about 5lbs up from there...which was actually 10lbs heavier than I was before I got preggo. I had planned to lose the weight that crept up but then got pregnant and was like, well I'll lose it after I can't seem to focus long enough to get rid of it! And it's not like it's some huge amount either. I've just got to work on being consistent and seriously meal prepping on the weekends. I don't have the time I used to!

How about you!?

I do too haha I hate people are going in trying to do it to lose weight...I say modify it if all you want to do is lose weight (if you aren't trying to omit foods that mess with your body..which is it's intended purpose). Yes it is 30 days but how do you learn anything with all those rules? You feel like a failure or are asking so many questions all the time or questioning yourself. I see it hindering weight loss and a healthy lifestyle for those that aren't already eating healthy or that don't modify it.
